My husband and I run an all organic farm here on our property with our 3 children. I grew up here in Big Pine and am so happy to be back to this valley!

This mountain cabin retreat was absolutely perfect for a weekend getaway. We made a bonfire at night and enjoyed exploring the area and swinging on the amazing swing! Couldn't have been a better experience - and Jennifer was communicative and lovely over text. Her directions to the cabin (totally off the grid) were perfect. The cabin is also close to John Muir wilderness - great hikes!
Wonderful and calm location in California mountains near a rapids. We were 6 and stayed there one night on our way to las vegas from yosemite. I wished we could of stayed longer because this is probably one of the best time of our trip. The cottage is rudimentary but it has exactly what is needed and it adds up to the experience.
Jennifer was a really easy going host who came to make sure we were all settled once we arrived, and gave us good suggestions of what to do for dinner. The directions she provided to get the cabin were great as it is off the main road. The cabin itself was cute and cosy and very peaceful, and the surrounding area (complete with a hammock and swing!) was great.
This place was beautiful and private. We stayed three in the cabin and were happy with the size and equipment. We loved the location and Jennifer was very helpful and a great host.
Awesome and interesting stay in a beautiful environment!
This place is great. There is a pond, and this really cool swing. The campfire under the stars was all around magical - plus my two doggies had the time of their life. An all around win and we will certainly be back.
Had a great time with my group of friends. We are used to roughing it, but with a storm forecast, we scrambled to switch our plans from a tent to this cabin- good call as it was surprisingly snowy and windy for April, albeit beautiful. It was not a problem for us with 8, between the beds and cots in the loft, but if you are a large group looking to have lots of private space or all the amenities, this might be a little cramped for you. We loved it though, kitchen is small, but the gas oven and stove worked fine. Had some issues with the water- you can drink from the filtered side of the sink, but it constantly spits water at varying intensities. Toilet also needs some work, but I think they were planning on handling it after we left. Someone else mentioned lack of table space, we brought our own small table and that proved to be sufficient. Owners were very friendly, hooked us up with fresh eggs/greens, firewood and freshwater. Trout were caught in the creek and the location is close to Big Pine Lakes Trailhead which has excellent dayhike options. Not luxury accommodations by any means, but for the price, you'd be challenged to find a better deal in the area. Thanks, great visit!
Great cabin in the middle of the woods. The rushing stream nearby adds to the tranquility. My pup had plenty of room to run around outside. There is amazing hiking about 5 minutes drive away. I had the best lettuce, farm fresh eggs, and spinach that I've ever had from their organic garden. Great way to get off the grid...
Thank you Jennifer and Dustin for a fantastic week in Big Pine! The cabin is exactly what we were looking for to get away for a while and we enjoyed the rustic charm and the spectacular views. The hosts provided us with fresh eggs and organic produce from their farm, which was a real perk. When we were leaving, I noticed that I had a flat tire. Dustin was kind enough to help me mend the flat, pump the tire and get us on the road. This is an outstanding place to spend some time when you want to escape and enjoy a hidden gem of California--the eastern Sierras. Thanks again and we are already planning to come back!
Jen, Dustin, Rocko, and Cooper were great host. The cabin was situated right next to a stream. Their boys Rocko and Cooper keeped our boys nice a busy during the weekend so that we had some time to ourselves. Fishing supplies were provided other than bait which we picked up in town. Cooper showed us their special fishing spot which we hooked 2 fish, however they got away. Since we went in late March when it was still technically winter in there, we didn't get all the awesome veggies that the other reviews got. But we did get fresh out of the chicken eggs that was so yummy. Only thing was getting up every two hours or so to keep the fire going in the wood stove to keep the place warm enough for the MIL.
