My husband and I run an all organic farm here on our property with our 3 children. I grew up here in Big Pine and am so happy to be back to this valley!

We spent one night at the cabin. Unfortunately there were a number of issues during our stay. I have brought these to the attention of the host but I could not recommend staying here with the current issues. Should there be resolved, the cabin could be a nice place to stay – the plot is relaxing next to a river, and the site is well located for a layover between Yosemite and Vegas. I understand that we were the last guests of the season. I hope the owners will take my recommendations on board for the incoming guests next year.
I took a little solo hiking trip out this way, and Jennifer's cabin was so close to the trailhead I wanted to hike. I had a lovely trip, and she and her family checked on me from time to time to make sure I was okay and had what I needed, which I appreciated. Anyone who is looking for a glamping type of trip, this is not it; this is where you come to get off the grid for a few days and unplug (and you must, because there is absolutely no cell reception or wifi except 8 miles down the mountain road you came up) and sit and enjoy nature and the quiet. Despite having some car troubles, which Jennifer's husband was kind enough to take a look at and try to help me with, my solo wilderness trip was a success.
A note to those looking to book later in the year: the cabin is powered by the creek, and in the late fall (I went mid-October), the leaves start to clog the system, and if that happens the electricity will go out/dim greatly. Jennifer showed me how to clean the leaves out in case she wasn't around, and after my first night in the dark for a few hours, her husband made sure to check the system and clean the leaves so that I wouldn't have to worry about it. (I don't blame 'em for this--leaves fall off trees and you gotta deal, but be warned that later in the year things gets a little more ... rustic.)
Despite a few hiccups, I had a great unplugged mini vacation, and next time I think it would be fun to bring people with me and make more use of the cabin grounds!
Had a very relaxing weekend here, just wish we could have stayed longer! The cabin is very rustic and old, and everything (sink, shower, kitchen) is slightly smaller than you're used to. I kind of felt like I was living in a grandpa's dollhouse. We had plenty of extra blankets (it got pretty cold at night), the downstairs bed was extremely comfortable, and the swing and hammock were awesome. The one problem was that, since it's fall, there were leaves and things that would get into the water pressure pipe system, so the first morning the water didn't work in the house at all. Our host fixed it, but later that day it started spitting a lot and not flowing well. Also, the pots and pans are very old, so you might want to bring your own if you plan on cooking a lot.
We were given some organic fruits and veggies, too, which were great—best watermelon I've ever had.
Overall, don't expect anything fancy, but if you want a quick getaway in the middle of nowhere, this place is perfect.
This place is fantastic. While you're driving up to it, you'll wonder if you're going the right way because there's NOTHING between Big Pine and this cabin. But the directions are spot-on and we found it with no problem. It's HEAVEN. Beautiful scenery and really convenient amenities. Mini-fridge is super cold, stove worked great. We ran out of hot water a couple times so make sure you take showers before doing dishes! It's got LOADS of space, but only one bed larger than a twin. Probably ideal for a couple (like us) or a large family. SO MUCH to do! Caught three trout in the pond!! Sat out on the balcony at night gazing at the Milky Way. Our puppy loved playing with their dog! Great central location, we took day trips to Bodie, Mono Lake, and the Bristlecone Pine Forest. Can't recommend this place enough for a relaxing cabin adventure! They even brought us the most delicious vegetables that they grow right their on their farm. We had the best time!!
House was as described. We were just 2 adults and 1 child, so the cabin size was good. My kid loves the outdoor space with the swing. Just be careful with the creek if you have small kids.
We did not see the host during our stay, but everything worked out fine.
Simple cabin, but the best for out door adventures. We loved the fire place, cabin, swing, vegetables, the river, birds and hiking trails so close by.
A group of 6 of us used this as a stop off point on a road trip between yosemite and las vegas. We did not arrive til after dark due to csr trouble but jennifer had left everything ready for us so when we arrived the light was on and we could just get settled. We spent the evening around the bbq and fire and it was beautiful. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good. Would love to go back and spend longer there.
Being in such a beautiful place was great. Kids loves that So much with water, games and trees. You have to be hère once in your air bnb Life .
The host was very nice and friendly. She gave us a tour of her organic farm. We meet her family. The cabin is across the bridge from the family's house so you can have your own privacy. The neighborhood is just what I expected, pretty much just a cabin in the woods.
Jennifer is a wonderful host, great communication and very welcoming. The cabin is lovely, and exactly as described. We spent a lovely evening sitting outside with a fire, a BBQ, the sound of the water rushing through the creek and the stars above our heads. Loved it.
