I'm a London based marketing guy at a worldwide conference production company, married to Helen with no children and a fondness for travel! Whether traveling or at home I enjoy the outdoors, catching live music gigs and visiting the theatre, as well keeping up to date with current affairs. My wife and I travel to the US quite often, visiting Boston, the Pacific Northwest, San Francisco and my all time favourite city (outside London!), New York. In Europe we like to spend time in North Norfolk in England, Mallorca in Spain and the Algarve in Portugal.
I consider myself very conscientious and will always treat a host's property just as though it were my own. We always like to try and travel with a touch of style, which means staying in nice places and disporting ourselves with a bit of class! (I wore a tie on our honeymoon to try and get an upgrade on the flight. It didn't work but it was much more fun!) Although I've been signed-up to AirBnB for quite a while, I've never quite taken the plunge and stayed anywhere, but am keen to give the sharing economy a try. I particularly like getting off the tourist trail and blending in wherever I am, so avoiding hotels is a good place to start.
In the FT Weekend edition, of which I am an avid reader, is a regular column where personalities answer a series of questions about themselves, including what would be on their coat of arms. So, in that spirit, my coat of arms would feature: a copy of the FT (!), a bottle of wine, an aircraft and a pair of headphones (for listening to music and podcasts). Admittedly, it would be quite a big coat of arms…
Hope that gives you enough to go on, look forward to being your guest one day!
