We've just spent two relaxing days at Oak Haven Hacienda. Lora is a superb hostess, warm and friendly without being intrusive. The accommodation is comfortable and spotlessly clean. Lora had asked in advance what breakfast ingredients we'd like and they were there waiting for us. Her freshly squeezed orange juice is the best and breakfast in the pretty courtyard watching the local bird life bathing in the fountain was the perfect way to start the day.
Lora was an amazing host and her Spanish style home is even better! She had fresh granola, cereal, fruit and orange juice for us every morning along with clean towels and bed sheets. I went with my boyfriend and recommend for any couple looking for a relaxing weekend in beautiful Ojai! The courtyard is perfect for drinking wine, playing scrabble, and soaking in the beautiful scenery. Loved it!
We spent wonderful 3 days/2 nights at Oak Haven Hacienda. This was our first time in Ojai and we spent fantastic 3 days in this relaxing community. We brought our mountain bikes and once we parked our car when we arrived we did not have a need to start it again until the day we left for home. Lora's BNB is just few blocks from the downtown strip of cute shops. We found several MTB trails around in the town. It was so beautiful ti ride trhough the orange orchards.
Lora was a fantastic host. We had fresh coffe every morning, fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh blueberries, apples, bananas, all diferrent kind of good healthy cereals and milk. The BNB was clean, comfortable, warm, relaxing... apsolutely wonderful.
Lovely suite of rooms in a quiet and woodsy neighborhood close to the center of town. Comfy, convenient. Lora made arrangements easy.
Lora was a paragon of hospitality. She squeezed fresh orange juice for us, shopped to our needs for breakfast, and gave us plenty of space and care, and to top that off: the Hacienda is gorgeous, clean, and organized. I couldn't have been happier with a home away from home.
Lora was a great host. House was clean and comfortable. We look forward to staying at Oak Haven again. I strongly recommend Lora's place for anyone visiting Ojai.
Lora's Haven was just that, a beautiful escape filled with the comforts of home. I had a restful stay with the sound of the lovely sound of water out my window. I look forward to my next visit to Ojai with Lora's hacienda as my home base.
This was my first experience with Airbnb, and I was so fortunate to have stayed with at the Oak Haven Hacienda in Ojai! Lora the owner was very warm and inviting! Even before we arrived, Lora had asked if there was anything we needed to have to make our stay enjoyable. My friend and I instantly felt at home! The rooms my friend and I rented were private, even though they were attached to the house. The main things I like about the house were the vibe and the cleanliness of her home. It was easy going...kind of like Mexico. She keeps it uncluttered and fresh. Fresh cut roses in all the rooms were just one of several things she did that show her attention to detail. The beds were super comfortable and had luxurious sheets! The bathroom was clean and charming, styled with gorgeous tiles. All windows worked properly and had screens so fresh air could be accessed whenever. Outside the rooms was a lovely spanish courtyard with a table for having our morning tea, just heavenly! She keeps a mini fridge in the foyer of the area for guests filled with an assortment beverages (sealed and unopened) and leaves room for you to stock your own treats. The home is located near a charming winding street that accesses a lovely walking path. The location is super close to a trolley stop, so we either walked or took the trolley into town. The area you stay in is private, but Lora made herself accessible for any thing we might need or any questions we would have. Overall the home is quietand in a quiet residential neighborhood. I liked that there were NO sounds from a TV or loud music to disturb the atmosphere (although she does provide a tv). This is a retreat, not a place to party. If you want a great place to have a glass of wine at the end of the day and read- this is it!
My stay with Lora was fantastic! I came to Ojai for some R&R, and I could not have had a better experience. Lora is a warm and friendly person. I feel lucky to have met her and I hope to come stay at her place again!
Her home is a wonderful Spanish style home with beautiful tile floors and wonderful details. The rooms are actually in a private wing of the house with two bedrooms and a bathroom. The larger bedroom was perfect. Cozy, nice windows to open to let the cool air in and hear the fountain in the courtyard. The bed was firm and comfortable and after a night at home, I am missing it! Good closet space for your stuff also.
The bathroom is very nice, the shower is strong and has great hot water! Also, lots of storage. Next to the bathroom is a small closet where there is a mini fridge. Lora has stocked the cabinet with lots of great granola and cereals. She also provided milk, coffee and tea!
One of the greatest things about my stay had to be the breakfast Lora prepared for me each morning. She has lots of citrus trees and other fresh things growing in her wonderful yard, so she prepared fresh squeezed orange juice, a variety of fresh fruits, yogurt with almonds, and best of all, fresh boiled eggs from her hens that live in the back yard. (Rosie is very friendly and will come up and talk to you!)
Her place is very close and within walking distance to central Ojai. I walked into town several mornings. Even though she is close to town, the neighborhood feels further out because the lots are big and there are so many big trees, and also nice winding roads.
Anyway, I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay. Just what I needed!
Lora was an exceptional hostess for my family members who stayed there for 6 days as we all participated in my nieces' 3 day wedding celebration up in the foothills of Ojai. And they also did a lot of day trips to Santa Barbara & Ventura for shopping, ocean viewing and wonderful dining.
There was an additional person that came along at the last minute (5 total) Lora was very accommodating and gracious. And in retrospect it probably was too many people for the two rooms with one bath. But having the tv/family/extra bed room where everyone gathered in the evenings and early mornings was fabulous.
