Perfect example why I'm immediatly fan of AirBnB. A place like this you'ld never find on your own. The directions are right on the money. So completly surrounded by nothing else than beauty of Irish nature, silence and pure campfeelings. Go back to basic, but do it in a cute, cosy, retro kind of way. And be assured that a welcome start is taken care of. Julia and her son Freddy were very helpfull and kind and the first supply of food and drinks was more than sufficient. The sky full of stars to sleep under was a perfect dessert every day. And as a final tip, the Perfumery is a must-visit.
Dans notre périple Irlandais, cette pause camping bohème nous a beaucoup plu. Les enfants ont revécu leur période scout, préparant le feu tous les jours, observant la nature. L'accueil en famille fut très sympa.
Merci à tous les 3
Dear Julia and Chris,
What a great place you have! I already put it in your personal book: the most romantic bedroom ever. Everything was really perfectly clean, nice atmosphere completed via the candles, tablecoverings, neatly white bedlinnen.
Once you've reached the place it's easy to find it again!
The extra tent with a doublebed for parents is a must! More space, especially when it rains convenient.
The kids loved to play football in their own yard and slept perfect in their 'table-bed'.
Very clean shower/bathroom and a lot of cuttlery etc., makes the stay real easy.
Enjoy the sky full of stars in the middle of knowwhere!

What a wonderful, alternative way to spend the weekend in the Burren! The caravan was brilliant- So cosy, compact and uber retro!! Julia and Chris were wonderful hosts, ensuring we had organic eggs, fresh coffee and homemade jam for breakfast! The site itself is so picturesque and we being city slickers who are obsessed with our iPhones,
never slept better in such peaceful surroundings!! No distractions from the outside world- bliss!!
All you need are flip flops, wellies (let's face it, it's Ireland) and a hoodie! Don't worry, there is also a great shower with towels and toiletries from the local perfumery! Amazing!
We were sad to leave but can't wait to return again next summer!
You should do it!! It will make you laugh and smile lots!!

A stunning, magical stay! Perfect hosts. Star of the show is the wonderful 1960's caravan (tardis-like; much bigger on the inside), with everything you need for a comfortable stay (we cooked every night and you should too!). The setting is idyllic. This was a one of a kind experience. We will be back! Thanks Chris & Julia!
Julia and Chris were there to warmly greet us when we arrived and were prompt to answer when we had a little trouble finding the turn off for the site. The campsite was a gorgeous place with a wonderful view of the Burren, and was a most perfect place to end our trip to Ireland. The location was great as a homebase for exploring all that Clare has to offer. Julia recommended a beautiful coastal drive from Ballyvaughn to Doolin, and had lots of literature on what the area has to offer. They had the caravan stocked with all of the essentials for a relaxing camping experience (ie eggs, bread, butter, milk , water, and firewood). We would highly recommend this listing!
The Burren farm was really as magical as the photographs. We loved our stay there. Julia left fresh flowers, bread, butter, and orange juice for us when we arrived. Exploring the Burren was a highlight of our stay in Ireland- be sure to bring proper shoes! The farm is about an hour from the Cliffs of Moher and the drive there is wonderful and very scenic.
Chris and Julia gave EXCELLENT directions to the farm- be sure to follow those!! Although we did have some issues when we arrived (we assumed the directions led us to their house and we would walk to the campground from there but it does not so we could not find anyone!) So, even though the check-in time says before six, be sure to set up a time for arrival to make your arrival as smooth as possible, especially if you are not from an EU country (we did not have cell service for the fews days before we arrived so learned this the hard way!)
A magical weekend. Julia gave lots of solid advice about how to entertain two young boys in the area. Everything from surfing to ferry trips from Doolin. Also she thoughtfully texted in advance of our arrival to warn about bad weather and the need for wellies. Chris was at the caravan waiting to greet us and despite us bring several hours late was very welcoming. Everything we needed and didn't think of was there. Books. Matches. Candles. Torches. Firewood. Lighters. A really lovely adventure. I only wish we had more time. Thank you!
Thank you Carol, we are so pleased that you had a great time. Please come back for another holiday soon!
Chris was there to welcome us and show us the features of the Caravan and the location of the toilet and shower facilities. We appreciated everything they had done to make the stay really wonderful and drove over to the Burren Perfumery to say hello to Julia. I loved the opportunity to spend time in an old Cheltenham Caravan and even though there were three of us we felt comfortable with the space. The bedding was all freshly laundered and cozy and it was easy to put the Kettle on and make a Pot of Tea. (We also cooked in the van.)The location is very very tucked away! Once you are there you feel the peace and quiet reign; I could have stayed a week! The out door area would have been lovely for relaxing but this being Ireland it rained while we were at the van so we stayed snug inside. Chris and Julia had left us basic provisions and fresh bread so we felt at home right from the first moments.
Thank you Sean, we are so glad that you all enjoyed your stay, despite the rain! Hope to meet you again soon
Had a wonderful sunny June long weekend here. Location is stunning, surrounded by the Burren landscape and utterly remote so it's really peaceful! The hosts were lovely and left us some food and wood for the fire. The caravan is picturesque and has everything you need for your stay. The bathroom block is a two minute walk away through a field and was spotless with towels provided. Would definitely recommend a summer holiday here!
Thanks Stephen, I am really glad you enjoyed it, come back soon!
Julia and Chris are great guests. They took really good care about my place during their stay.
I recommend them to any airbnb host.
Dream hosts. They have an amazing take on life and could not be bettered.
Julia is my sister, and Chris is my brother in law. Apart from being nice people, good hosts etc, I think the most relevant thing for this listing is that they LOVE camping and are extremely good at it. Julia makes any space look chic and feel welcoming. Chris' expertise is picking (and making) wonderful camping spots. I experienced this first hand when they organised a Yurt for us to stay in over our wedding. Lying in bed under a soft duvet, looking at the view, we literally had to tear ourselves away to join our own party. Furthermore they are outdoorsy people with 3 kids and lots of knowledge of the area, so apart from being able to walk straight out of this caravan into 300 acres of organic burren mountain farm, they can tell you sweet swimming spots, good beaches and point you in the direction of the best restaurants, pubs and things to see.
