Welcome to Phoenix - and to my home. I've lived in North Central Phoenix for most of my life, and love it here. Even if I don't hike the nearby mountain preserve as often as I used to, I love the brief ride over the hill on my way to downtown or to Paradise Valley that reminds me that I live in this beautiful desert. It's a great place to come home to.

I love to travel myself - and to meet people who live in the places I visit. My grown kids live in the LA area, and so I spend a lot of time back and forth to California. (I came to know about airbnb when I needed a quick place to stay a couple of summers ago - and had a great experience.) Some of my other favorite destinations are Portland, New York City, and Honolulu.

I especially enjoy travelling internationally, too. Rick Steves is my travel guru, and I've planned trips over the past few years taking small groups of friends with me to Greece, Turkey, Italy, and Tahiti.

I love to journal -- and to read as well, particularly stories with a strong narrator. I love books by Anne Lamott, Barbara Kingsolver, Amy Tan and, Diana Gabaldon, among many others.

I am the director of a local body-mind-spirit center where we offer a variety of classes and concerts that foster community and renewal, and where I teach a gentle yoga class one evening a week.

My home is fairly small -- 3 bedrooms in 1300 square feet. But it's neat and clean and I like to think it's warm and welcoming. It's in a safe, newly gated neighborhood. When you stay with me, you have pretty much your own "wing" -- the guest bedroom and bath are right next to each other at the front of the house. My bedroom and bath are off the living room at the back. There's a cozy breakfast area in the kitchen where you can sit looking out at the neighborhood, and a nice brick patio in my backyard where you might enjoy sitting and reading. I have a large flat screen TV in the living room you're also welcome to enjoy.

I have a wide circle of wonderful friends who greatly enrich my life -- and am open to meeting others like you. I like to think that the people I'll meet through airbnb are just friends I haven't met yet.
