We did not meet Robert during our trip, but we were hosted by Vitalis. Vitalis was a great host, he was very welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. He provided great tips for navigating into town and helped us to book tours into the Cloud Forest and book our shuttle to our next destination.
Location was great, up a small hill from town and easy to get to restaurants, grocery stores etc by foot. View is amazing and the walk into the trees behind the property is nice :)
The rooms are basic, but have everything that you could need, including a nice hot shower. And while the rooms are somewhat small, it was nice to have everyone out together enjoying the view and the sunset in the evenings.
It was a pleasure to stay here!
The breakfast in this hotel was very good.
The host is friendly and gives u all the suggestions/recommendations/directions that you ask him for.
The room is small but clean.
Located closely to the center of the village.
Lots of places to eat around this hotel.
The road is good.
We had a great stay! We were four in a room (which is quite tight) but we had a great sleep. The host (Vitalis) was very nice and always ready and willing to help us. The breakfast was delicious every morning. We slept very well because the hotel is in a quiet area and it is quite close to Selvatura... There is also a little trail in the back of the hotel which belong to them, really nice!
We had an awesome stay at the Sunset Hotel. The location was great and was very close to the main part of town as well as the rest of the main attractions.
What really stood out about our stay here was Robert. Robert goes above and beyond for his guests. He is super friendly and can make a mean fried egg! He was able to help us with booking all of our activities while in Monteverde which really took a lot of stress off of us.
I really liked that the resort was not too large, it helps give the place a more intimate feel.
The reservation was canceled 72 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had the most incredible stay in monteverde! What an absolute gem of a place. I recommend this destination to anyone travelling to Costa Rica. The sunset hotel is in a good location and our hosts Vitalis and Robert made the stay awesome. They are both wonderful people with generous hearts.
We checked in a little late to our hotel, but Robert was there to greet us and let us know the lay of the land. He made sure to give us a great room that looked right into the mountains and down to the ocean. We were moving around a bit so didn't get a chance to enjoy breakfast, but it was offered and included. The staff was very friendly, as well as the other guests in the hotel. We were grateful for the wifi to be able to contact our families and let them know we made it and the location made it very easy to get back and forth into town. It was a really great start to our trip.
Robert and his father are very helpful recommending and setting us transportation and tours. Breakfast was wonderful! I We loved the tranqill setting.
We had a lovely stay at Sunset hotel Monteverde. It is a perfect location to visit the Santa Elena cloud forrest and the Selvatura adventure park, where you can find the most beautiful hanging bridges of Montverde. Also the Canopy tour is an absolut must do! Vitalis, Robert's father is a very friendly host. He took the time to tell us everything about the environment and it's attractions. He even arranged the entrance tickets for Selvatura with student discount. The rooms are a little bit aged and simple..but also very good priced. Besides.. it's beautiful garden, private forrest and the amazing sunset makes it absolutely worth staying here. Though the location is a little bit hard to get to if you don't have a car.. it's quite far from the center of Santa Elena.
we had car trouble on the way to Monteverde. What a difficult road and a difficult trip. We got there very late, but they left a note and the key for us. very kind hosts with great language skills. Nice clean rooms and very quiet. The price was fair.I would definitely recommend it
