good place, friendly locals. great view from the balcony
Santa teresa es espectacular, vale la pena.. El cuarto de andre es tal cual se muestra en las fotos no mas, no menos
Good accommodation for this price
André and his housemates were very friendly and helpful, thanks guys! The front room is very close to the road and cars going past at 3am are incredibly noisy but the neighbourhood is very safe and beautiful plus the room is cheap so we didn't mind. Overall good value :)
Nous sommes resté presque une semaine et ce fut une trés bonne expérience.
Nous avions des personnes parlant Français avec nous, nous indiquant quoi voire, quoi faire et servianble. Merci à eux ;)
Santa Teresa is a nice area. Good location to ramble to the Corcovado (2h30/3h) and Sambodromo (10 minutes) by foot.
Easy-going and reliable hosts, some more cleaning in the shared areas would be a plus.
My wife and I were in Rio from December 28 through January 25, 2014. I had a reservation in Copacobana confirmed from Jan 5 through the 25th via airbna. We needed another place for the other eight nights. This was over the New Year. It was had to book. Andre confirmed our reservation. That is the good news. The taxi driver talked to Andre over the phone to help find the place. We had a room with a fan but no A/C. It was super hot. We found this impossible. It did not cool down much at all at night. The overall place was dirty and we felt that there was little security. You share the place with others. There are multiple keys and some need to lock the front door at all times. The last one who leaves bolts the doors and window. Andre was not helpful about transportation. Maybe we asked the wrong questions, but it turns out that you need to know that the 12 bus takes you to the undergroud and to city center. Once we figured that out, we did better. He did not recommend that we walk in any direction for security reasons. But he did not tell us about the 12 bus, which makes it very simple once you figure how to take it and get back. But after four nights of sweating all night, we just had to leave. We found a hotel in downtown that did not cost much more per night and had a room after New Years. It also had A/C! That made things much, much better. We could actually get a good night's sleep!
Our place in Copacobana turned out to be a winner. Santa Teresa, which is where Andre's place is, can be interesting, but it was not where we wanted to stay. Overall, our stay at this place was awful. I would not recommend it at all. We needed a place over New Years, so that worked, but the rest was a disaster. There were others there who seemed to find the place O.K. We are older and have a large home in California. This place was like a college flop house. No security for the room at all and little-to-no privacy. I think it had Internet, because I remember booking the hotel from the place over the Internet via (website hidden).
O quarto é exatamente como nas fotos. A localização é muito boa, é possível ir a pé até pontos de ônibus e estações de metrô, mas tem que estar disposto a subir alguns morrinhos. A vizinhança é tranquila e segura. O anfitrião é bem solícito e fácil de lidar.
Anddré is a nice person, ready to help for what you need. The flat is is simple and a bit dirty, very easy going stile.
