Very accomodating for last minute reservations over New Years! Would highly recommend!
My fiance and I stayed at Virgines home for one week in October 2011. we couldnt have chosen a better place to stay. Virgine (V) is a lovely person, she was welcoming and opened her home to us. although we rented the bottom room (which has its own bathroom) there is a living area right outside and the laundry is also on the bottom level which we had access to. There was another person renting the above bedroom however she was rarely home due to work demands so we actually had the entire house to ourselves!. The place is very clean, modern and very warm and comfortable. we didnt want to leave, and we would definately stay there again. The place is in the South part of Williamsburg and there is a variety of cheap places to eat (Chinese, Dominican Republic food) and a great restaurant / cafe called Moto. The main streets such as Broadway, Union, Grand and Bedford streets are only a short walk away and you have a selection of subway stations (M, G, J, Z and L lines) close by. This place is affordable and has everything you need to make your stay an enjoyable one.!
We had a very good time at Virginie's flat. The location in Williamsburg is quite nice if you want to visit Manhattan but also Brouclyn and the Bronx.
Hope to come back if I decide to go back to NYC ;)
The only negative point: we had problems with the payment (airbnb).
The host canceled my reservation 6 days before arrival.
Apparently, Virginie ist renting both of the rooms in the apartment. Our room (which is normally her room) was in the cellar, with little and indirect daylight, and you could smell that she usually smokes in there. Apart from that the room was quiet and proper, with a good mattress on the bed, an adjoining living room and privacy. The kitchen is upstairs, without daylight and well equipped.
The location itself is pretty convenient – a 10 minutes walk from bars in Williamsburg and less busy than the center but with different metro stops nearby providing good links to Manhattan and other parts of NYC.
Virginie herself was nice in the beginning but then one day she appeared in the apartment accusing us in a rude manner to have taken some food from the fridge – which we had not.
Virginie's place was tidy and well located and virginie was very accomodating. The WalGreens close by is super convenient and it is a 2 min walk to Subway. I would definitely recommend virginie's place to anyone looking for somewhere affordable and neat nearby the cooler areas of NYC, especially in the summer months.
Clean, friendly, amazingly quiet, comfortable and absolutely no hassle. Could use some better lighting in the room. Virginie is a treasure!
Very nice host.
The room was clean and as described.
We totally recommend Virginie's place. She lives on the floor beneath so it is as if you had your own apartment with bathroom and kitchen. The train is a two block walk and it takes 10 minutes to get to the city. When we go to New York, we usually stay in Manhattan. Brooklyn was a nice and new experience. It's the artistic spot!
Virginie was an excellent host. Very friendly, very clean and most respectful. The apartment was lovely. As someone mentioned it is near the street but it is a very quiet street and I had not one issue with entering and leaving the building (maybe there is just a knack to it). I didn't feel it was an issue getting to and from Manhattan or further into Brooklyn. I highly recommend Virginie and I personally would stay with her again.
Merci mille fois, mille fois merci!x
Virginie has a beautiful place that looks like it is right out of a photo shoot. It is a very large and open space with beautiful hardwood floors and exposed brick. Nestled in the heart of Little Italy on Mulberry St, the location is ideal you want to be close to authentic Italian restaurants. I highly recommend checking in at Virginie's.
