We loved our stay in the apartment above Tucson. Norm was friendly and flexible and we were able to move in about 11 am on our arrival day. The apartment is a comfortable space in an older home. The deck is fabulous and we spent each evening out there watching the mountains turn colors in the sunset light. The sunrises were fabulous too. The location was perfect for us, about 1 mile from some great gem shows, a bike path and reasonably close to the downtown and university. There was a great place to lock our bikes outside and plenty of parking, even when the house was full. The historic neighborhood was interesting for us to explore. We were about 1/2 hour from both National Parks, and the Santa Catalina trails as well. We will definitely stay with Norm next time we come to Tucson.
We enjoyed our stay at Norm's. Spacious house comfortably accommodated 4 adults and a baby. Would be happy to rent again.
Beautiful sunrise views, building with a history as a bed & breakfast starting in 1953. Norman has lots of interesting guidebooks available.
The master bedroom is spacious and bed comfortable, the other two bedrooms with queen beds share a bathroom. There are alcoves to hang clothes but no dressers. The fourth bedroom is actually a small room adjacent to the living space and curtained off. Lots of items for families with children. Kitchen, bedding and towels were very clean, but the premises could have used a good deep clean. Location is very convenient to downtown and great dining, but on a quiet street near A Mountain.
There was a problem with the water pump when we arrived and Norm called plumbers and got it repaired promptly.
Truly is a nice cozy little place with a great view. I stayed the entire week and enjoyed my time in Tucson. The shower is a little small but everything was still very clean.
Norm's Economy with View was as advertised. Good basic accommodation with great views, fantastic sunrise, and close walking / hiking options. No complaints, would stay again.
The apartment was just as described in the listing. The pics were great to give a good sense of the amenities. The picture of the view of Tucson was spot on and was beautiful both in the daytime and at night. Norm was easy to contact by phone and gave excellent directions and details about our arrival. I called him again as we were leaving and he was available for departure instructions.
We never met Norm, but everything was great! We arrived really late and he made accommodations for us. The neighborhood was nice and the view was amazing. We sat outside and enjoyed it every morning. The price was so affordable considering the place included: full kitchen, cookware, television, storage, etc. We would definitely stay here again.
The unit was very large and clean. The view was spectacular, and there was a great barbecue and fire pit on the deck. The property is dated but well worth the price. The parking is also safe and you are very close to downtown Tucson, U of A and the new street car. I will stay with Norm again.
I booked this unit for my parents to stay on their first visit to Arizona. I live close by, and really love the neighborhood this listing is in. The view is AWESOME- you see the sunrise over the Rincons and the sunset light up the Catalinas to the north. Seriously, one of the best views you can possibly get from a place that is so close to downtown! Even though we did not take the streetcar into downtown, one could easily walk down to the Mercado and hop on if they were not super familiar with where to go to park downtown or didn't want to bother. It was a quiet, safe neighborhood, but be warned that many travelers coming into town are surprised by how loud and frequent the train running through downtown can be. My parents solved this easily with a pair of earplugs, and then slept soundly through the night. There is a beautiful patio and grill so you can take full advantage of the fantastic view of town. The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable. My parents really loved it. It had working wifi, a full kitchen, a big tv, and two windows (one in the bedroom and one in the living room) that looked out over the mountains and city. Even as a Tucsonan myself, I was jealous of the view from this place! It is also very close to the trail up A-Mountain and Tumamoc Hill (both popular walking spots) and a 10 minute drive from Starr Pass hiking trail, which is a must-do if you are visiting and want to get a feel for the beauty of the low desert without driving far out of town. It is also a 10 minute drive from the heart of newly-revitalized downtown, full of shops, restaurants, and music venues. I could not have picked a better place for my parents to stay, Norm was very friendly and accommodating, and the price is such a bargain compared to hotels in the area! If this place is still available the next time my parents come back, they will definitely be staying there again. Thanks Norm!
Thanks for your glowing review. I enjoyed meeting your folks. Thanks for making us look so good.
Though I did not personally meet Norman, on the phone he was very friendly and gave very clear directions to the place. Upon getting to the place, my friends and I were awestruck by how great it was, especially at such a reasonable price. To top it all off, the view was phenomenal! If I'm ever in Tucson again, I will definitely stay here!
Norm was a pleasure to finally meet! He was a quiet and respectful guest. We hardly knew he was even there. And I think we may even have turned him into a AirBnB host back home. We'd welcome him back !
