I won't really be able to describe how amazing Alina was in 500 words so I'll do it in point form.
1) I proposed to my GF in Alina's apartment
2) She help me coordinate, gave suggestions, picked up candles and rose petals, set up while we were at dinner for the surprise proposal...everything!
3) All I had to do was ask and she gladly did it all perfectly!
4) My girlfriend said YES!
Host: Basically, if you're looking for an fantastic, helpful, and easy to work with host, Alina is great. She responds very quickly, and was always there anytime we needed her. She also provided great restaurant suggestions which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Apartment: The apparently was nice, clean, and exactly what I expected from the pictures. WiFi signal was strong.
Location: Walking distance from everything! I must admit I was initially worried from what I read about the area, but this location is generally considered the TenderNOB and is totally fine. You'll see a hobo here and there, but that's the case in most areas in SF. Regarding food in the area, there's a lot of great restaurants VERY close by. Just Yelp or Urbansoon it... you won't be short of good food while there.
Overall: I'd recommend this place to anyone going to San Fran. It's well priced, nice, clean, conveniently located, and has a great host!
Thank again, Alina!
Alina was an exceptional host. She was prompt with any inquiries that I had. Her apartment was very well organized and neat. She was polite and very understanding of last second changes to plans. Best of all, everything she had mentioned in her profile matched up exactly with reality.
I wholeheartedly recommend staying at her apartment.
Alina was a fantastic host - great at keeping in touch and arranging to meet. If I hadn't been so busy with a conference, I would have asked her for more information about the best things to do around town. Her apartment is lovely, I had plenty of space, and it feels like staying in a home rather than a boring hotel room. Very comfy bed!
Alina was a great host. I had a late evening flight into San Francisco and she was flexible with the check-in time. I had no issues during the week I stayed there. I was able to walk almost everywhere I needed and wanted to go during the week. Most everything was within a 1 mile radius.
Alina's ad reflects the details accurately: a cute and functional studio apartment in the Tenderloin, close to all SF offers either by walking or easy to access public transportation (Civic Center BART 6 blocks, Muni buses within a block). Internet functions well, coded security to enter the complex.
Two of SF's best Indian/Paki restaurants (Chutney & Shalimar) 1 block away.
Easy to make contact, Alina checked in during and after our stay as well.
If you are a super light sleeper, earplugs would help, but that applies anywhere in downtown San Fransisco. And don't be afraid of the Tenderloin: as with anywhere in the world, if you don't mess with the homeless, they won't mess with you.
I would comfortably recommend Alina's place to anyone looking for a convenient base for exploring SF. I hope we'll be back soon!
