I had a great stay at Andy's. The room nice and cosy. Downtown Berkeley (BART station) is approx. 25 min by foot, but although it is quite dark at night, I did not feel uncomfortable walking back at night. Andy was very helpful and spontaneous when I decided to stay longer. I can definetly recommend this "sanctuary"!
Staying at Andy's place was fantastic. Andy was very responsive to my request to stay at very short notice. Thanks Andy. House was really nice, clean and very welcoming.
I was just in town for a wedding and the location was perfect for what I needed. I didn't spend much time there because of the wedding and all the preparations. But I was not expecting to find so many great things about Andy' s place. There is a beautiful homey kitchen, lots of interesting pictures of his travels, comfy bed and an amazing back yard. It really felt like a home away from home. Thanks again Andy!!
Andy was the perfect host for the very brief visit that I spent. I was only there for one night but Andy was present, friendly, accommodating and had some good advice about the local area.
The house was lovely, clean and tidy. The bed was, literally, one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept on. It cured my jet-lag in one night (unheard of for me!).
The area was quiet and residential - no loud cars or sirens in the night, and within walking distance to the nearest BART and central Berkeley.
If I was returning to Berkeley I would definitely contact Andy again.
Okay, here's what I really appreciated about Andy's place. The bed was nice, not too soft, not too hard, not too big, not too little. The area where he lives is quiet so I always got a good night's sleep. The feel of the place is warm too, lots of wood and plants and character. The location made it pretty quick to get anywhere. I walked to places I wanted to go. Still, it is a city and so you go in and out of areas that were a bit unpredictable feeling at night if you're a woman going it alone. My mother would have commented on the cleanliness of the place but it did not bother me. Tidy though. Andy was not there when I was so I have nothing to say about him other than that he was prompt and sweet in email communication.
Very laid back, easy place to stay, comfy bed. Everything I needed.
The space was well prepared, clean, and quiet. Andy was a great guy and, personable. He stands head and shoulders above other AirBnoB hosts. Why do I call it AirBnoB? Because other hosts often don't offer breakfast, and don't make that clear in their profiles - you get to find that out after you arrive. Call me old fashioned. Maybe the web site should change its name?
I had a great stay at Andy's place. :)
Andy's house is clean and pleasant, and he's an extremely nice person. It's in a part of Berkeley convenient for the Bart train and not far from the university. I enjoyed staying there and I'd recommend his place highly.
I had a fantastic couple of night's at Andy's. A really quiet, clean and homely place to stay, in a nice leafy suburb. Really interesting travel photos on the walls as well. A good and comfortable place to have gotten over the jet-lag!
Andy stayed two nights with me, we had a nice chat when he arrived but then I didn't see much of him as I was pretty busy. He was friendly and quiet, he also hosts in Berkley which we talked about and I'm sure he would be great host as well as guest :)
Great guest, easy to be with. Good company -hearing his stories over supper. He is welcome any time.
