Longacre is a beautiful and cozy getaway for a relaxing vacation. We came here at the end of a tiring road trip and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. Lara was easy to communicate with and made sure we were comfortably situated, and her mother Renee is a lovely hostess.
We had the Mint and Maple rooms, and I recommend both highly! The maple room has a jacuzzi which is lovely. The place is beautiful and comfortably furnished, with a big backyard. We enjoyed lounging around reading and playing scrabble in the morning, with hot chocolate.
The one downside is that there is not that much to do directly in Appomattox. However, Lynchburg close by has a number of good restaurants, and there are a number of breweries close by to visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Longacre and plan to stay again when visiting Liberty University and the Lynchburg area. The peaceful setting is worth the drive from Lynchburg. Our family of 5 was very comfortable in the spacious two room suite. It reminded us of a lovely BNB we stayed at in Normandy, France but with gracious hosts and southern hospitality. My family enjoyed chatting with other guests in the living room and den. By the time we arrived, all the rooms were filled but it didn't seem crowded at all. The breakfasts vary daily and are quite delicious. My family raved about the quiche. A sweet bookstore and coffee shop, Bain's are within walking distance in Appomattox. There are fast food restaurants as well as gas stations and a grocery store close by. We made the reservations the night before and received confirmation the morning of our PM arrival. Our college student decided the stay with us instead of the dorm. We had a back-up plan, so it wasn't an issue for us but the hostess said to feel free to call if you if are pressed to confirm reservations in less than the 24 hour time frame allotted by AirBnB. The hosts were flexible and accommodating as our college student waffled back and forth on staying there or at the dorm and ended up staying with us at Longacre. We were very happy with the price of the accommodations and breakfast. The rooms and furnishings were clean and fresh. The bathroom was spacious, with a spa tub and large shower head. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. By far better than any place we have stayed in Lynchburg and less costly.
This gorgeous Tudor-style bed & breakfast was hidden quite well just a mere stone's throw outside of the historic downtown Appomattox area. The house was beautiful inside and out and the host was fantastic! The Longacre really made our first wedding anniversary getaway a wonderful time!
Had a wonderful time at Longacre. I stayed 4 nights to relax for my birthday. The estate is beautiful. Better even than the pictures! I stayed in the Magnolia room, there is more comfortable seating there now from what was in the photos, so that was a bonus! The hostesses were so friendly and accommodating. Open to pleasant conversation or leaving one to solitude. The breakfasts were amazing! The grounds were beautiful and quiet and pleasant.
The town doesn't seem to wake up until about noon and dies down around 5pm, but folks were generally friendly, though I must say, the people running Longacre were by far friendlier. Lots of historical Civil War things to do, not my thing, but Holliday Lake State park is close by and a must see, must relax spot great for kids and adults alike. Roller skating rink was close by and a lot of fun. This place is also not far from Lynchburg. I highly recommend Longacre and will likely visit again to experience the coziness in the winter. Thanks to Dana and "Mom" and "Dad" for being such gracious hosts and great joke tellers!!!
We enjoyed a quick stay here. Grounds are very beautiful- able to walk around and enjoy them. Hosts are very accommodating and friendly! We stayed in the mint room and the bed was very comfortable. Perfect for our quick stay at Appomattox.
Longacre BnB is an extremely charming place to stay. Even for a cold Spring day the grounds were great and the accommodations were comfy. Would I stay there again? Absolutely! The hosts were a delight and breakfast was perfect.
Great Stay! Really like the room, the food, the location and especially the hosts. Recommend highly
