A perfect property with amazing views and a great location. The living area is open and extremely comfortable and was perfect for our group. The bedrooms were a good size with plenty of space for our 8 person group even though some had to sleep in bunkbeds. A great place for families and we would bring ours back but this was more of an escape from the kids. We were able to find a taxi van to town and had a great dinner at Land Ho. A quick drive to Nauset beach and downtown Orleans had all the provisions and stores we needed. A great house in a wonderful location. Thank you.
La maison ressemblait aux photos.
Notre hôte a répondu avec le minimum d'informations à nos questions. Communication à revoir.
Great house, exactly as advertised. The space on the top floor is perfect for lounging and enjoying company. A really terrific option in a nice secluded area of Orleans. All of our guests enjoyed their time, and would stay their again. Shannon is on the ball with communication, and was very helpful during our stay.
This is a beautiful house, in a lovely location. The best bit of the house is obviously the top floor, where the open plan living room, dining room and kitchen open out onto the deck with chairs, tables and BBQ. Even on a cloudy day, this room is flooded with light, but on a sunny day, this place really comes into its own - and the view and sound of the ocean in the distance is marvellous. At night, this is all you can hear. In the morning, the birds are wonderful. I could live in this space!
The master bedroom is by far the best, with lots of natural light and the prettiest decor. The other three rooms are sizeable and you can easily fit in a large family or two in the house.
I would love to come back in full summer and take advantage of the decks, as well as the kayaks and bikes. I can imagine setting up my easel and painting on the deck for a few hours.
Orleans itself is lovely and a good central location for exploring the Cape. Nauset Beach is spectacular.
Shannon kindly left bedding and plenty of towels out for us. The kitchen is very well equipped in terms of crockery, pans and cutlery, etc. Directions to the house and instructions are clear and accurate.
One or two things in the house could perhaps be updated, but I would be delighted to return to this house and to recommend it to friends and family.
This house was a perfect home base for my family's first trip to the Cape. Its central location means it's only a short drive to Provincetown, Chatham, and other neighboring villages. When the weather turned stormy for most of our week away, this spacious, cozy home provided a peaceful day of reading, cooking, and rest. The tidal inlet at the end of the street is a gorgeous place to walk and run at low tide.
We enjoyed our vist to Orleans. Beautiful ocean vista and a great space for our family gathering. Beach runs walks right down the street were a bonus. Thank you Shannon.
The house was in shabby condition and not very clean
This house is amazing! Spent the weekend here for a Bachelorette Party. We couldn't have asked for a better house. It fit everyone comfortably, great location close to the beach, the views from the deck are great! Setting everything up with Shannon was very easy, the keys were left in the lockbox which made it nice to arrive anytime after 4pm. The house is equipped with utensils and serve ware! 4 car MAX with parking, there are no other options. iHome for your iPhone. Towels, sheets, laundry, working grill, seating on the top deck, fireplace inside, nice yard. Lovely house which made for a great Cape weekend. Thank you to the Varney's!
Shannon and the Varney family were terrific hosts. I began coordinating a girls' weekend about six months prior, and not being familiar with the Cape, Shannon was extremely timely and helpful in communicating and answering all of my questions, from beginning to end.
The house is quite nice and very comfortable to suit a large group, comes equipped with mostly everything you could need, including great views.
There is plenty to do in Orleans, from a selection of beaches, trails for hiking/biking, and restaurants and bars -- as well as shopping/grocery needs, etc.
My one and only caveat is that if you're looking to explore the Cape, Provincetown is about a 30-45 minute drive. Ours was a unique situation in that we were seeking a low-key beach holiday, but definitely wanted to hit the town a night or two as we were celebrating a bachelorette. We found that there is only one taxi company and while super helpful and accommodating, became a bit pricey.
Beyond that, it was a perfect and enjoyable stay. I'd definitely recommend the Varney house for your next Cape Cod adventure. :)
