Tim's place was great! It was clean, pretty spacious, and the rooftop gave a great view. Tim was also a wonderful host - he came down to get me at the bus stop and even invited me along to events the weekend I stayed. I'd definitely stay there again.
I can't say enough good things about Tim and his roomate Josephine. Great people, great place. Staying in Pui O I saw a side of HK I never knew existed and aside from an awkward early morning pre-coffee 1st encounter with Bruce the buffalo(apparently Lantau has buffalo strolling around) my trip was amaizing. I met wonderful people, made new friends & that includes Bruce. He's cool. Getting to Tim's is an adventure in itself. If you like roller coasters skip the taxi & take the bus. I've never had so much fun going to work than riding the #1 as it negotiates the narrow hillside roads like a formula 1 race car. Im tempted to say the whole area is radioactive and swarming with man eating crocodiles to keep it less touristy but it wouldn't be fair to anyone who needs to get out of the city for a little R & R after the daily grind in Central. If you want an inexpensive stay-cation minutes from a quiet beach call Tim. You can thank me later.
Tim has a wonderful, relaxing space on Lantau Island. The location is both convenient and idyllic-- steps from both the local bus stop to Mui Wo (appx. 10 min ride) and also from Pui O beach (10 min walk). After struggling with the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong Island, a stay at Tim's place was exactly what I needed-- a comfortable room of my own, spacious bathroom with hot water, and serene location! His roommate Josephine is wonderful, allowing me to use the kitchen and offering helpful tips about where to go for food and entertainment.
Tim is an excellent host. The apartment and his room were exactly as he described them. He provided helpful directions and even had a friend collect me from the bus stop to pass off the apartment key (he was out of town at the time) and show me how to get there (the place is a little difficult to find the first time around).
If you're looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay, away from HK's urban density and close to its beaches, wilderness trails, and local communities, don't hesitate to stay here.
Tim was a great guest! Very friendly and respectful! Would host him again anytime!
I couldn't share with Tim because I was travelling, however my roommates said he was really nice guy, relax and respectfull!
