Lucie's place was perfect!
It was clean and had the ideal charm, characteristics and warmth of a humble city home. It was right along the T-line which made transportation easily accessible and inexpensive.
Lucie was a wonderful host and timely responsive to any inquiries. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Pittsburgh!
Lucie was a great hostess. Even though we never saw her, she was easy to communicate with through texts or emails. The townhouse was just as it was described and very comfortable. There is a store right down the block that has a deli and anything else we needed. There was a lot of street noise from the trolley cars, but we got used to it and it was not a problem for us. The trolley station is just a block away. We would stay here again if we ever need to return to Pittsburgh!
My family and I stayed here after having surgery at UPMC. The location was relatively close and easy to get to the hospitals. (about 15 minutes depending on traffic) Be ready for driving some serious hills, but I guess that's most of Pittsburgh! The apartment was simply furnished and very clean, with a small, but functional kitchen.
The main downside was the couch in the living room was so uncomfortable and low to the ground that we all were using the straight back chairs from the dining room instead of the couch. It was super low to the ground and overly broken down, which was not ideal for recovering from a serious surgery, or honestly just hanging out on. It was uncomfortable enough that we decided to rent couches for the second week. If you are out and about everyday exploring the city, the couches would not be a big deal. If you are just going to be at the apartment the majority of the time (like I had to be to recover), it could be a problem.
Stayed a couple of nights on a work trip. Convenient location, just minutes from a T stop. Nice historic house and comfortable bed. The neighbourhood is very interesting and a great coffee shop on the street. Didn't meet Lucie but communication was quick and helpful and no problem getting and returning the keys.
If you are a light sleeper than the road noise could be a problem. Saying that whilst I found it difficult to sleep the first night, particularly as the neighbours started a loud and audible conversation at 4.30 in the morning, the second night I slept soundly without interruption.
Didn't use the washer/ dryer as in a different building although instructions on how to find it.
We had a wonderful visit, very clean and all appliances avaliable for us. Perfect location. Ten out of ten
Lucie was great. The place was clean and the metro was super convenient. Other reviews were correct stating the close proximaty to a fun 'local' bar, a handy groceries store and a trendy coffee shop. Downtown Pitt is about 11 minutes away by transit. Not a great neighbourhood to run in (if you don't like constant steep hills) If you like good morning jogs stay down town near the rivers. Who ever commented on dampness and mood was wrong, based on my teams visit.
Lucie was always on time. She knows the area very well and was able to give my family some great recommendations. She is also quite considerate. She set up a portable crib and high chair for our youngest child. The home was exactly as described which was great. We really enjoyed our trip. If we're in the area again Lucie will be our first choice.
Exactly as described - much more space than staying in a standard hotel room. Communication with host was professional and pleasant. She's friendly, helpful and honest.
Lucie was a great host and was very accommodating. The apartment is right on the tram line, which makes getting downtown extremely easy. Overall, I had a great experience here and would highly recommend the apartment!
Lucie was great at communicating, her responses were very prompt. When my travel plans changed due to flight issues and I arrived much later than planed, Lucie went out of her way to make accommodations.
The location is very convenient to the light rail station which provides a quick and cheap ride to many places throughout town. There is also a grocery store nearby. Even though the apartment furnishings are a little dated, everything was very clean. A+!
