Really enjoyed my stay on Hoff Street! The apartment is incredibly well located, a stone's throw from the Mission & 16th / Bart - and all the awesome places the area affords - bars, restaurants, nightlife, coffee shops etc. It is a quirky and spacious apartment, a real San Fran experience. Alex's room has loads of natural light and it is a great room to wake up in. Only thing is it can get quite cold in his room as the one heater for the apartment is in the hallway, so be warned! (apparently it was the coldest for 80 years when I was there so may just have been an anomaly). I sadly didn't get to meet Alex in person but I met his other 2 charming flatmates, Anna and Ian, who were great company. In short, I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone who wants an authentic SF experience in a very well-located situation.
Alex's room was cozy and quiet, his bed quite comfortable, and the apartment had everything I needed during my business trip. I loved the neighborhood, with gorgeous murals everywhere and a nifty park across the street. Public transportation right around the corner and convenient shops, bars, and restaurants all around. I enjoyed the folk art throughout the apartment, interesting notes from previous guests left on the fridge, and a crazy-cool piano in the livingroom that made me wish I could play. If you want a flavorful taste of the Mission District, this is the place to stay.
Alex's place is great. Located right in the heart of everything going on in the Mission District, it's a terrific central location to start from whether exploring all of Frisco or staying close to the area. Alex is equally, if not more so, awesome as his spot. He's a gregarious host who will make sure you have every need met. And don't be afraid to ask for a few of his excellent dining recommendations while in town. Top-shelf all around, thanks!
I had a wonderful experience at the Hoff house; the room was spacious and had a lot of personality. Everyone was also very friendly! Alex is excellent about checking up with you as well to make sure your stay is going okay.
The house is located in the heart of the Mission so you are pretty much next to everything, including the train. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want an exciting experience!
Alex was very helpful. The room was comfortable and quiet. The apartment had a lot of charm. The apartment is very close to 16th&Mission bart station which makes for easy commutes.
I stayed in Alex' place for a week, and it was just exactly perfect. Not only is the neighborhood great, his preparation was flawless and the room was both tranquil yet vibrant, situated right in the Mission with corner windows that could hear the city breathing. I was there on a work trip primarily, so it was nice to be able to have this quiet yet sunny room as a retreat from buzzing about SF and the Napa Valley area during the week. It's a handsome room at that. Alex' also was very flexible in accommodating my need to stay for 3 more nights when my schedule was updated. Totally perfect host, room and trip.
We really enjoyed hosting Alex and it was a pleasure meeting him in person. He is welcome back anytime. Definitely recommended.
