I'm a 30-year-old nurse practitioner living in San Francisco. I met up with a friend in New Orleans this past summer who had set up a reservation through airbnb, and I absolutely loved where we stayed. Rather than some hotel around Bourbon Street (sad, sad, sad), we stayed in an old shotgun-style duplex in the middle of the Marigny, and I couldn't have been happier than I was with the second line (brass band parade, sort of like a wake) our hostess cued us in on, the crumbling old courtyard bar she recommended, or the soulful linoleum-tiled cafe we stumbled onto ourselves. I haven't had the chance to book an airbnb spot yet myself, but after that first experience, this is definitely the way I want to travel.
I'm a respectful guest, and I'd love to hear what you love about your city and neighborhood.
