I am a radio journalist for Canada's public broadcaster, CBC Radio. Love adventurous travel and bike touring.
Although I didn't get much opportunity to talk with Chris, he seems like an independent guy that enjoys his travels. He communicated well when arranging his stay and we touched base briefly a couple times thereafter.
It wasn't clear on the last day if he knew when his checkout time was because when I went to clean it an hour afterward, the door had been left wide open and he still had food on the counter that I bagged for him and placed outside the studio. Fortunately, this is a backyard studio and I didn't have huge concerns...simply some confusion as to what his intentions had been.
Chris was a nice guy. Once he arrived and settled in I never did see him again. That's the nature of my place. Folks can have their own space to just relax and base their trip from, or can choose to just hang out and chill. He was an active visitor, always out and about. Wish I could have spent more time but glad he got the chance to go out and enjoy the beautiful city and unusual nice weather.
Chris was a charming, personable young man and we admired his zest! We would happily welcome him back again anytime!
Chris has an interesting background to share having lived in the wilds of Canada's north. Chris is a gentle soul with an adventurous spirit, cycling from Vancouver to Portland in one week on his own. Regret that we did not have more time to chat.
