Although we never got to meet in person, Jess was incredibly supportive, thorough and fantastic at getting our needs me. Her house is a joy on every level. Filled with beauty, it sits nestled into the side of a mountain. It felt like being on retreat. Aside from how stunning and filled with art, creativity and personal style this home is, its also warm (a HUGE plus in New Zealand, and not what you would expect in most homes) and very very comfortable. I highly recommend a day at this wonderful location.
Great house, great location. Thanks for sharing, Jess!
Our stay at Jess' house was great! We loved the location, Island Bay is a beautiful area. It is close to the city and very easy to get into the city either by bus or car (we found it cheaper to drive in and park on the weekend than catch the bus, some areas have free parking on Sunday).
Jess' house is amazing, we loved the decor, its very comfortable and the views are fantastic. She also left us some yummy local produce for breakfast.
Jess communicated with me in the lead up to our stay and during as well.
We would definitely stay there again!
The booking was easy, communication was responsive. The house is comfortable, the view is great. There are good cooking, and laundry facilities. Pleasant neighborhood with a grocery, liquor store, butcher, numerous restaurants walking distance away. Pleasant walks to the beach or to a hilltop park with a terrific view. Short drives to downtown Wellington and the airport.
Jess was very friendly and helpful prior to my booking. Gave good advise and was pleasantly nice.
Photos taken of the house was as it has described. Has very nice view from the house top. Very quiet surroundings and has a nice garden at the backyard. Location of this house is very convenient to the local supermarket and cafes. Not very far from city also.
However, there are many steps to climb up in order to reach the house. Hence, not advisable to carry too heavy stuffs if there are elderly around.
Overall, would definitely recommend to others should they be traveling to Wellington in the near future.
Thank you Jess and Happy New Year to you! :)
We booked Jess' place for my parents-in-law when they came to Wellington. They loved it! Spacious and had everything they needed during their stay. Jess was fantastic communicating with us and was sure to check that my parents-in-law would be ok with the stairs leading up to the house. Thanks Jess!
Jess was a great host and was very flexible and accommodating with arrival and departure times which was a great for us on international flights. The house is very comfortable and a great place to retreat. The house is located at the top of a number of stairs but the view is worth it once you get to the top. Island Bay is a great area to stay close to beach and city. I would recommend having a car while you are here though.
The pics don't lie - a magic little spot with run-of-the house given over by your super cute six month old host.
His parents left everything one could possibly need. Its only 5min walk to the supermarket and its brilliant ale selection...!
Arrival and departure was a breeze - don't hesitate in booking this gem!
Jess and her family were a pleasure to host. Very good communicators and respectful of the property. We would welcome them back any time.
Thanks Bron, we will be back to your place again, it's such a wonderful spot.
