Very sweet cottage in beautiful location. Gorgeous views from front yard and nearby to lovely hikes into the hills to local Tibetan monastery and historic fire tower.
Julie's house was a quiet and private place, comfortable and Furnished charmingly with antiques. This is a great place if you want to completely disconnect from the world. We loved the fire pit out back. Thanks for a nice stay.
We spent Thanksgiving weekend in the cottage. It was cozy and warm, with a wonderful stream across the road.
The place is close to Woodstock and other Catskill attractions. Funny note: we searched in vain for fresh Sage in the Kingston Shoprite, only to find it in the garden outside the kitchen door. Nice surprise.
Went out for a weekend with my girlfriend, and had an absolutely great time. The house is beautiful, clean, and very quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful stream just across the street.
It was a short drive to great places all around the Woodstock area, like the Buddhist temple up on the mountain. Highly recommended!
Luke and Julie went out of there way to make our weekend the perfect escape from the city. We couldn't of asked for a better cottage for our long weekend. The cottage feels remote, despite being only about 8 minutes away from downtown Woodstock.
The cottage is incredibly charming and very cozy. We cooked all our meals in the cabin and was surprised to find the kitchen to be very well stocked with cookware. The best part is the openness of the main floor which allows your to cook while not being alienated from those in the living room. Being able to scavage rhubarb, kale, radish, and raspberries in the garden was a nice touch.
I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone and intend to be back myself this spring.
Julie and Luke were great. Their house was lovely. It was exactly what we were looking for.
Luke and Julie are wonderful hosts and their home is perfect for a quaint, rustic get-away with beautiful views. There is a field across from the house, with a babbling brook just past that, and we saw deer in the field a couple times during our stay. We felt it was just far enough in the country for peace and quiet, but close enough to Woodstock and central in the Catskills for there to be tons of things to do and great places to eat. The house is 3 BRs, but the 3rd bedroom is a bit small and does not have a bed. That said, it worked perfectly for us, as we put our toddler (pack-n-play) in there, while we took the other 2 BRs (King bed upstairs, Queen downstairs). Their (Northern Spy) apple tree was bursting with apples, which were quite delicious! We did have an issue arise with the boiler in the house during our stay, but Luke and Julie were quite attentive and got the issue resolved within hours of notifying them (on Sun of a holiday weekend, no less!). It was great to get the wood stove going and curl up with a good book or conversation with friends. In short, we would highly recommend the house to our friends and would most certainly return.
Julie and Luke were amazing hosts. They were very communicative and their place was literally perfect. My boyfriend and I spent the most relaxing weekend there. My favorite part was that our phones didn't work so we weren't able to compulsively check them during our stay. There is this amazing creek across the street from their house where we spent a lot of time. The cabin is decorated in a really cool way. My boyfriend and I both loved it. Another plus is that there wasn't too much stuff in the house. Very minimal. They have an apple tree and really pretty garden on their property. Really perfect place. Hope to stay again sometime.
Julie, and her husband are good guests, used our flat like it were their own. Also Julie's little dog is well educated, so wasn't any problem with her as well. Always welcome by us!
