I've always been inspired by the comic book character, Tony Stark/Iron Man; so much so in fact that, if I can help it, my scientific contributions to the world will involve brain-robot interaction and exoskeleton technology.
Right now, I'm just trying to get by as a DPhil student at the Mobile Robotics Group in the University of Oxford.
I'm still heavily attached to the Lamba Labs Beirut Hackerspace as a communication manager/ spokesperson of sorts and I'm a food-hacking amateur. I also offer my engineering expertise to projects at Lamba Labs when the need arises for a mechanical tinkerer/programmer. I also maintain ties with my old job as an event curator at AltCity, a community space back in Lebanon.
On top of that, I'm a technical researcher/writer/editor. At my thesis defense, the committee suggested I switch from engineering to writing– Although I didn't know whether that was a compliment to my writing skills or an insult to my engineering skills...
Speaking of writing, I love to read-- fantasy & sci-fi mostly-- and I love TV shows like Game of Thrones, Spartacus, and The Borgias as well as some comedies like the Big Bang Theory.
Like I said before, I like to hack food, which is to say: I like making new dishes with non-traditional ingredients and mixtures. I also said that I'm an amateur at this and I believe I need to experience more flavors and taste more foods to become better!
Food is one reason I enjoy traveling but it's not the main reason at all. I really just want to experience the world and I don't mean like a tourist. I like to do real things in countries I visit like attend workshops, participate in conferences, explore nature, and perform physical activities.
Urgh... I don't like to describe myself but I guess that's about it. We can talk more if/when we meet! Deal?
