I've lived in the Bay Area for over eight years. I like cooking, but what I love even more than cooking is eating. I read a lot, play tennis, and enjoy the outdoors.

Jay was a great host - patient and totally understanding when I accidentally overflowed his toilet !!! Great location and great room. He is around when needed but gives you plenty privacy too
Great location, quiet well-furnished room, clean, modern andrelaxed.
Jay's comfy private room is just that, and the bath down the hallway is clean and bright with a great shower. I really appreciated how quiet and peaceful it was. We were barely there except to sleep and shower, so it was great to get a good night's rest. I love this neighborhood. It feels safe, a great park, where you can hang out with neighbors and dogs or get the train or bus. Duboce Cafe is a great spot for breakfast. Just a few blocks away is The Grind on Haight. We love that place too. Jay is a very considerate host. He went out of his way to make sure that he could be there when we arrived. He made us feel welcome, but he gave us a lot of privacy. Jay told us about Flywheel, a great App for getting taxis. It came in really handy. Staying at Jay's was a perfect arrangement for us, and I would happily stay in Jay's comfy room again.
We had a wonderful time staying at Jay's place. I loved the character of his house. We didn't mind the long stairway to get in. Our room felt very private, had a nice modern decor, good size and an awesome bay window to the main street. Our bed was very comfortable. We noticed some dust underneath our bed but the room was overall clean.
We had access to the living room and kitchen where we kept a few leftovers and bottles of wine in his fridge. Our bathroom was located near the living room but it was all ours. I was also pleased to see that Jay had many useful toiletries.
The location of his apartment was the best part of this booking. Located in Duboce Triangle, Jay's place was 2 blocks away from Market Street and near all the buses and trains. Many good restaurants and cafes were within walking distance.
Lastly, Jay was a good host, very nice, easy to reach. We would strongly consider staying here again anytime I am in San Fran
Staying with Jay is like being a guest at your good friend's house (but with more privacy). He's very warm and welcoming and provides an equally comfortable space. Speaking as a business traveler, I visited SF for a conference, and Jay's place was perfect - great wifi connection, close to public transportation to get to meetings, close to groceries stores to pick up a snack, and the IDEAL place to return to after a long day of workshops and sessions! I couldn't ask for a better experience!
I stayed with Jay for 3 nights while in SF attending interviews and meeting with friends.
The Space - Jay's apartment is beautifully decorated with the guest bedroom being very cozy indeed. The bed is super comfortable with great pillows, and the room has dark curtains to help you sleep in if you'd like. Down the hall is the private guest bathroom which Jay has included shampoo, conditioner and a hair dryer. I had access to the kitchen, making use of the great coffee machine and being able to keep a few breakfast items in the fridge. All the photos on the listing are accurate and show the apartment as is.
The Neighbourhood - Duboce Triangle is very pretty and in the middle of everything. I had to get to Silicon Valley for my interview and it was really easy to get the Muni to the Caltrain, and also around the city. Jay's apartment is a 2 minute walk to the local Safeway if you need to stock up on groceries, and an easy 15 minute walk to the Mission if you want to check out some awesome bars and restaurants.
The Host - Jay is really easy going and friendly and great to communicate with in the lead up to my stay. I was welcomed into the apartment by Jay's cousin Cindy who is lovely and gave me great suggestions for local dinner places. Jay was super chilled out. We had a few chats over the 3 days but he also gave me the space to do my own thing. I felt very welcomed and comfortable staying as a guest in his apartment. Thanks a million for everything Jay!
Jay was an excellent host. The apartment was comfortable, spotless and exactly as advertised. The location is great and in easy walking distance to public transit. I'll be staying at Jay's place again.
very confortable and nice area, wonderful experience in SF!
I recently stayed at Jay's home for one week to attend a business conference in Union Square downtown San Francisco. The home is ideal , only about 2 short blocks from the a main metro stop and about 10 minutes metro ride to downtown San Francisco. Jay is a gracious, pleasant and accommodating host, respectful of his guest's privacy. The home is spotlessly clean, quiet, sun-filled, and thoughtfully decorated. The bed is comfortable, the wifi internet is fast, the guest's private bathroom is clean, and the kitchen is modern . The neighborhood is quiet and safe even late at night. I would highly recommend his place for any future trip to San Francisco
The apartment looks exactly as photos , cozy, nice and relaxing. Joe is friendly and accommodated us well , gave us lots of helpful information . It is worth it. Would come again next time.
Staying with Jay is better than cuddling with 10 puppies. No, really. Almost. I stayed with Jay for a couple of nights and felt as though I were in a swanky (and friendly!) boutique hotel. Jay is an excellent host who is conscientious and laid back. When I arrived at Jay's place, he had made up the guest room replete with the highest threadcount of sheets and a flatscreen TV for my viewing pleasure. Jay directed me to my own bathroom, where I also had access to laundry. Clean is an understatement. Everything in Jay's apartment is appointed to perfection, but still feels homey. The living quarters are great, but they pale in comparison to the man himself. Jay is a passionate San Franciscian who's always up on the latest restaurants and down to go on an adventure or see the latest movie at the Kabuki theater. As a serious food lover, Jay often cooks delicious food at his place, so prepare yourself for happy aromas from the kitchen. Jay and I ended our last night watching Louis CK's most recent comedy special on the living room big screen. Did I mention Jay also likes to laugh? He does. Stay at Jay's, and be happy!
Not only is Jay a great friend, but he is a great airbnb host! I stayed with him for several days and enjoyed every minute. The apartment is absolutely beautiful and in a perfect location for exploring San Francisco. It is light and spacious, and the bedroom has an incredibly comfortable mattress, a television, and closet space. And plenty of outlets! The bathroom has hotel-quality water pressure, and Jay always makes sure that there is shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available. Of course, clean sheets and towels will be waiting for you. Finally, Jay is kind and thoughtful, and very knowledgable about the city. He'll be happy to help you maximize your stay with recommendations for sights, restaurants, and day trips. Have a great stay! We'll definitely be back to visit soon, Jay. :)
