After having to move the reservation due to an issue with the house, TJ was helpful in transferring it to another weekend. The house is as pictured and very close to SOCO. However, upon arriving we discovered that the house had heaps of smelly garbage bags outside. Inside the house their was a very strong smell of dog, we like dogs but the smell was so strong that even after lighting some candles and opening the windows, we were unable to use the main living area and thus all went to bed early to avoid the smell. In addition, we had brought a bunch of groceries and had planned to cook and hang out, this being one of the benefits to renting a house and not staying in a hotel, unfortunately the refrigerator smelled so bad of rotten food that even after trying to figure out what it was coming from we decided to just avoid "Pandora's Box" all together and eat out.
The next day we contacted the host and his suggestion was to light a candle and open some windows ... he insisted that he had had the house professionally cleaned, however it did not appear to be that way. Either that or he needs to find another house keeper. All in all, it was inexpensive and we made the best out of the situation, but it would have been nice to use the living area more if not for the smell.
TJ was a great guest. He stayed with me over SXSW, even though he is a local. He was on time to meet me to get the keys and he was very pleasant to deal with; also good with communication. He left my place very clean, even put the towels that had been used through the washer, and all dishes in the dishwasher! Thanks for taking such good care of my place TJ :)
