Susan - artist, yogi, river guide, & goofball. Ian - food guru, entrepreneur & world traveler.
The couple I hosted were a joy. Thanks for the bread! And reservations by one for the different people makes arrival planning a bit disconnected.
I'm putting this out there early... When Susan wins this year's Airbnb 'Best Amateur Host/ess' contest, I may have to file a protest... She's a ringer! I haven't stayed at her home in Madison, but I have spent 2 weeks with her in the bottom of the Grand Canyon! She's a river guide, and while her raft navigating is great, it doesn't really qualify her for Best Hostess. But it's the other parts of that job that make her such a fantastic airbnb host... As a river guide, she of course makes sure all the basics are covered (You know, the "are you comfy? happy? need anything?" basics) and she does it with style--Susan was the only guide to serve dinner in a black boa! She's great with everyone, since she practices dealing with all sorts of people--from teenage boys and girls, to their 70 something grandparents. She loves sharing her local knowledge, and pointing out all the cool little secrets around her. And her patience for hot and tired travellers is incredible! And altho most of my knowledge is about Sue, she brought Ian with her to stay with us for a few days, and he's a great guy! I'd recommend a few nights with Sue and Ian in Madison any time!
You never met a more fun and hospitable couple! They're interesting, accommodating, flexible and fabulous. You'll love them as much as I do. :)
