We had a great time. The description was accurate and pool lovely. Wendy was flexible with us coming and going to Daintree which was helpful. Key lock good for kids coming and going to pool.
This is a lovely clean apartment in a lovely location. I would strongly recommend hiring a car if arriving by air as I do not know how close the public transport would get you to the resort, especially if like us you arrive in the dark and pouring rain. Having a car would also allow you to explore this fabulous location as well as allowing you to stock up on necessary groceries without difficulty.
With a family of five, we found this apartment to be the ideal size. Being a corner apartment, there were great views all-round, including keeping an eye on the kids in the huge swimming pool. The apartment was very well maintained, with ample supplies of those little things one tends to overlook when shopping. It is located somewhat away from the main strip in Palm Cove, but a good walk.
As others have commented here, Wendy was very responsive and quick to deal with any issue that came up - an absolute pleasure dealing with her.
All-in-all, absolute value for money.
Wendy was the ideal airbnb host: responsive, communicative and accommodating. We had a super smooth check in and had all the information we needed prior to our arrival. The apartment was immaculate and the pool was lovely. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could need. Wendy was extremely helpful and accommodating when our trip got cut short by a cyclone. Great stay.
We had a wonderful stay in Wendy's apartment, it was spotless with good utensils for cooking etc. the pool was great and the location was perfect. It was air conditioned throughout which was a relief as it was very humid during our stay! Would definitely stay again. Thanks . Conor
Wendy's flat in Palm Cove is really lovely.
When we first arrived we were struck by how clean it was. The flat is furnished well and there were quite a few essential provisions available for us to use. There are also several DVDs which we found useful for quiet nights in although a lot of these are aimed at children.
My partner and I found the flat to be well located as it is an easy walk to the main area in Palm Cove. His parents, however, felt that the walk was a bit further than they would have liked.
The pool in the complex is very nice and we found that we didn't need to use the facilities at the nearby hotel even though they were available for us.
Wendy communicated with us well and was always quick to respond to any queries that we had.
If I had to suggest one improvement it would be to install wi-fi in the flat and this is only because the wi-fi in the restaurants and cafés in Palm Cove wasn't very good.
We really enjoyed our week at Palm Cove. Although the accommodation was set back from the beach, it was a nice walk to the esplanade each day. We also enjoyed using the hotel (Grand Chancellor) pool each day.
The accommodation was as described and we were pleased to find some beach toys for our 3 yr old, plus beach towels and DVDs. The apartment was roomy, well stocked, and had a nice aspect being on the corner of the block. The balcony had a few cobwebs, but the interior was in nice condition. We did not use the accommodation pool, preferring the hotel facilities instead.
The only issue we had during our stay, but it wasn't major for us, was the digital t.v dropped out from time to time, requiring a reset each time. We were also a little nervous by a sign informing us of a $1,000 fine if the fire alarm went off!
If staying in this location, be prepared to stock up with groceries, as it is a 2km walk in to the esplanade, which only has a few mini marts. We did a big shop at the Village shopping centre, which requires a short bus trip each way, but served us well for the week.
We also hired a car one day, which was easy to do on-line and pick up at the esplanade. When you need a break from the beach, head into the Atherton Tablelands - nice drive and interesting places to drop by.
Wendy was polite, attentive and helpful from the beginning and I'd recommend this apartment, particularly for a small family, who are happy to be off the main strip and prepared to walk to Palm Cove (which we enjoyed).
This was a great place just slightly north of Cairns. Easy access to a lovely beach and a great pool. Super clean apt was exactly as described and check in and check out were as easy as could be. Loved our time in Cairns, and loved this place.
Lovely place, clean and it has got everything you will need. The appartment is on the side of the apartment building, so you don't have the feeling of being locked in. Nice views of the trees and pool downstairs so you can keep an eye on the kids if needed. We did not get to met Wendy, but she was there for us nonetheless. Thankfully she is very quick in communicating through AirBnB and suggests things to do as well. We were very satisfied with both the communication and the appartment!
We did not meet our host. Just exchanged a few messages prior to arrival. Arrival worked smoothly. Overall the apartment was OK and Palm Cove is a really nice place to stay. The pool was great and there is a nice balcony. The apartment didn't quite meet our expectations from the pictures on the site. It was very clean but furniture and fittings were a bit dilapidated. There were no cleaning products for the kitchen. The dishwasher is in fact a dish drawer and the plates are too big to fit in, and anyway we found it didn't work very well. We were also put off by a few notices threatening AUD 1000 charges if we set off the smoke alarms, which can apparently happen if you switch the aircon on below 21 degrees or indeed if you cook without opening all doors!
She is my sister so I'm bias but Wendy really is a rather delightful and particularly entertaining individual. She is very thoughtful and attracts friends with great ease. She's a bit of a cars expert, and knows way too much about prestige vehicles and has potential to be a great comedy writer but she won't listen to me. And her tuna, olive and orange pasta recipe is to die for, or kill for. Give me that recipe Wendy. Also I adore staying in her apartment in Palm Cove.
