I have been living here for almost 15 years and just love the pace of life in the countryside. This is a wonderful place to connect with nature. I enjoy cooking for people, reading and local arts.

Emer is a accomodating host and even though we arrived in the early hours of the morning she was there waiting for us with a big welcoming smile and supplied us with coffee, tea and other basics to make our late arrival easier. The house was very comfortable in beautiful surroundings. It is a wonderful springboard to tour the Wicklow area.
We highly recommend her venue.
This location is fantastic with rural views all around. Emer made sure we had everything we needed.
Thanks for the feedback David and sorry we did not get to meet.
We had a lovely time at your home. The house was very comfortable and warm. We loved the open fire . Emer was very helpful with directions and places to eat. We had to cut our stay short and the host was very understanding. Would recommend it to friends and family
Emer has been a super nice host, evne providing us with breakfast!! The house is extremely spacious and comfortable. You can enjoy an amazing view of the valley, and during the night you can lose your self by watching the sky full of stars. I could even see the milky way!! Thanks Emer!
We felt very much at home in Emer's house on top of a hill with a beautiful view across to sloped pastures and grazing cows and sheep. There is ample space in the house to relax (kitchen/den area and a full den/living room on the second floor). Emer is very welcoming and ready to help out while at the same time giving us our space. It is a great spot to visit the Avoca valley (wish I had bought a rug at the Avoca weavers - and where we ate some great fish and chips) as well as the Wicklow mountains (great views from the Military road). A nice spot to visit the east of Ireland.
A group of us stayed at this house for a wedding in the Ballybeg House. It was an excellent location, 5-10 mins from the place. The surroundings are beautiful and if you really like the country scenery this house is a must! The house itself has everything you need with an old fashion touch to it, which is very nice.
Emer was an excellent host, she had everything ready as soon as we arrived. She had information for taxis and directions to the place wrote down on a bit of paper prepared for us on arrival. If there was anything we needed Emer was there to help!
Would recommend to anyone going to a wedding in the Ballybeg House or if you plan on staying in the general location!
We stayed in Emers house for 3 nights while at a wedding in ballybeg house. It was a great location to stay, just the other side of auchrim and a fiver each in a taxi to the venue. Emer was a great host, so considerate: she left us freshly baked bread, tea coffee milk and all the basics we could have needed. The house itself is a treasure. Full of interesting books, board games, in an amazing location.. our only regret is that we didnt have another few days to explore the area a bit more, go on some nice loop walks etc.
My family and I loved our stay at Emer's home in the beautiful Irish countryside. Emer was very helpful both before and during our trip, providing us great directions, and even spices for us to cook meals while in the house. Six of us stayed together, and it was very comfortable for all. The views from the house are gorgeous. One tip - bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper - being an old (and beautiful) farmhouse, we had some cheerful birds outside waking us early. :)
We had such a wonderful weekend at Émer's place. Émer was a gracious host, who strove to make us comfortable and welcome. It's an idyllic setting, and a perfect place to catch our breath after hectic days of travel and a visit to Dublin. It is remote, but the directions are good, It's also very convenient to scenic/historic Glendalough, and all of Co. Wicklow. I'd love to return for a longer stay sometime!
The place es very good, bathroom Kitchen and the bed room. The sights are beautifull and the location ok, maybe a little far
Emer is very kindly too , se mákes u feel very good
Emer e sua figlia sono delle simpaticissime viaggiatrici irlandesi, spero ritornino presto a Siracusa!!!
Emer's house is a wonderful place to stay. The property is spacious and comfortable, with beautiful views of the Wicklow hills. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind. Emer is a welcoming host, who is happy to provide delicious home-cooked food, made from locally sourced fresh produce.
The location is great: only one hour's drive from Dublin; and nearby in the villages of Aughrim and Avoca are lovely village pubs and cafes, including Macreddin, where you can find a restaurant, hammam / spa, horse-riding and golf.
For those who prefer a slower pace, the house is equipped with a library, large open-plan sitting room, a luxurious bath to soak in, and of course lovely comfortable rooms.
I'd definitely recommend staying here!
I can highly recommend Emer's place near Aughrim. The farm house is light and spacious with phenomenal views over the Wicklow landscape: a really special space, especially as you catch the evening sun setting over the hills. You will find everything you need in the house or if you opt for the inclusive breakfast you can be sure of a treat as Emer is a very experienced chef. Emer will also be able to offer help and advice if you should need it or privacy if you should prefer. Set deep in the Irish countryside yet close to many tourist destinations for day trips to Kilkenny, Wexford etc this property is ideal as a base for a while for a truly Irish experience.
