I love my downtown Toronto neighbourhood, the Annex, because it reflects the diversity that makes my city special- we are within walking distance of University of Toronto, Kensington market, Yorkville, Chinatown, Little Korea, Little Italy and Little Portugal - everything I need from my grocery store to my yoga studio is around the corner. As a singing teacher I am fortunate to be doing something I truly enjoy that allows me to work with people of all ages and backgrounds. Getting to know a variety of interesting people is one of the perks of the job. When I travel meeting people is something I look forward to. I don't own a car or a television and don't miss them because there is so much to see and do just outside my door -it's never boring just to walk through the neighbourhood. When I travel walking and exploring is a favourite activity. In Toronto if I want to cook something special - or if I need props for a show, any kind of ingredient required or costume item can usually be found for a great price in Kensington market or Chinatown. It's fun to check local markets and interesting shopping areas in other cities. Things that I do: yoga, attending concerts, theatre, study Italian. Things I'd like to do more of: walking in the woods or on a beach, hiking in the mountains, dancing, reading, taking courses.
