This placing has spectacular views over Medellin and beautiful gardens. It is conveniently located between the airport and the city. Traffic and some roadworks sometimes mean an extra travel time to the city. We usually did it between 20 Min and sometimes 40 Min. The indian Mall is within 5 Min and has a good store with fine wines, meats etc, and the mall has some fabulous restaurant. Try Amada for some of the best steak in colombia.
The house is older as stated with country charm, that suited us fine. This is what you should expect. It will not be a 5 star but doesn´t promises to be. There is no electric or gas heating but given the Medellin climate is not much of a problem (unless you are Costeño). If you decide to stay here allow time one afternoon for a plate of Nibblies and bottle of vino on the front verandah. It is peaceful and the view amazing.
The hosts could not have been more helpful
We were really impressed with this beautiful finca / farm house overlooking the city of Medellin from high up on the mountain. It really is quite a remarkable view. The house is the original farm house of the area, and appears to have been preserved in it's traditional form, with the added modern conveniences of a microwave, blender, large fridge and gas stove. There is good internet access and a huge hot water system so our large group were all able to enjoy hot showers. A couple of sky lights also helped to bring more light to the traditionally darker areas of the home.
The property is situated on a large block of land and our children were happy for hours exploring and playing in the garden, while we relaxed on comfortable chairs of the verandah, looking out as the planes below made their descent to the old airport in the city's centre. Olga had arranged everything really well, and we had the phone numbers of her two siblings we could contact while there. Her brother Jaime brought a large container of bottled water and showed us around the house, and both he and Diana were able to help us with various queries by telephone throughout our stay. They all speak excellent English for those guests who are not confident in Spanish. There were a couple of vases of flowers from the garden that had been arranged before our arrival - a very sweet gesture, as the house rules (understandably) request guests not to pick flowers themselves. We really liked the rustic charm of this beautiful finca and enjoyed the old-world feel of the place, from the impressively stately central dining room to the olden days furniture in the sitting room, the two bedrooms (both with comfortable beds) and the children especially loved the twin single beds in the loft above the study.
The finca is about (phone number hidden) pesos in a taxi cab from the Poblado metro station (approx $7-8USD), and there is a supermarket within 100m of the Poblado metro exit. There is a traditional Asadero restaurant called Doña Rosa just a short walk from the Finca, and we enjoyed a traditional, delicious and inexpensive meal together there on a couple of occasions.
It really was an unforgettable experience to stay in this lovely old farmhouse, and we would like to thank Olga (and Jaime and Diana) for all their assistance.
The house is amazing. It's like if you were in a fairy tale. It's a beautiful colonial house, fully furnished with everything you need. The view from the house couldn't be better. You feel like in heaven. Olga and her family are such great hosts that you ferl just like at home. We had a great time and would love to stay here again.

This is a beautiful old house in an equally beautiful setting. The view of Medellin is quite breathtaking. It could easily accomodate a family group looking for together time, BBQ's and lots of space, or a writer or artist looking for inspiration. This said, its only a short taxi ride into Medellin, so you're only as isolated as you want to be. Olga and her brother Jaime were very kind, helpful and responsive at all times.
Olga was a great hostess, she gave us all the information and facilities we need! we hope we can return soon to Medellin!
This property is a Botanical Garden Home with a view of Medellin one should not miss. This is my second time here and your cannot find a more pleasant place to visit while in the region.
Thanks much Joseph. It will be a pleasure to have you back, hopefully soon.
