Conrad was a welcoming host that was always available when needed. Fortunately, there were few instances when he needed to be reached. He was flexible when my schedule changed at the last minute and was willing to work around last minute changes to the best of his ability. Additionally, he was quick to share his knowledge of the city and suggest things to do.
The flat itself was in an excellent location. It was only a short walk to the Waverly Train Station, the University Campus, and the Royal Mile. Major bus routes and plenty of places to shop were close by as well. There was construction being done on the flat while I was there, but Conrad made me aware of it before I arrived.
All in all, it was a very pleasant stay in Edinburgh and I would recommend Conrad to anyone looking to stay in Edinburgh for their vacation.
Conrad was a great host! He welcomed us so warmly that we felt like at home in his flat. The tips he gave us for going out to some pubs with live music saved our evenings.
His flat is just amazing! We fell in love with it the moment we saw it. You feel a bit like on a houseboat and its totally worth the experience! Everything you need is there and I am sure Conrad would help you if you need anything more. The flat is perfect located, directly next to arthurs seat with a lot of beautiful scenic walks and with the castle, the royal mile in walking distance.
Conrad was a very welcoming host and very responsive to requests. For example, me I'd asked him if he could lend me a guitar for the duration of my stay and he managed to rustle one up plus set up a much-appreciated sound system. The location was terrific, with Arthur's Seat and surrounds (lots of scenic walks) a few minutes walk in one direction and a multitude of shops, cafes, pubs, services, etc a few minutes walk in the other direction; and within walking distance of the royal mile and city centre.
The experience was coloured by the fact that building work was in train during my stay. Conrad had warned me about the work in advance but it was delayed - not through any fault of his. My advice would be to check on the state of the works. Otherwise the apartment was functional and good value for money and well-suited to my purposes.
The place was very simple but there was all what you may need to spend few days in Edinburg. Conrad has been helpful with our needs.
The place is around 20 min walk from the main streets and the center with the castle and so on. Walking 10 min you get already to buses and to a main road with shops.
The street in which the appartment is located is very silent. Sometimes there may be a bit of noise from the neighbours in the same building.
There is a small toilete and a second room as bathroom with shower or bathtub.
Internet works perfectly, and the garden is nice.
Thank you. We spent a good time there.
All good, great location. Very small but you get used to it! Conrad was very nice about accepting my dog.A brilliant stay
We had a marvellous stay in Edinburgh thanks to Conrad, who welcomed us in his cosy and very nice flat. We sincerely hope to come back or to welcome Conrad at Nantes. This is the place to be in Edinburgh, near citycentre and very near to the gorgeous Park of Holyrood.
Conrad was very accommodating, the pass of key was easy. The flat is rather "romantic", you are going down to the basement, but if you look out from one of the bedrooms, you can think, you are on the first floor (the other one is on the level of the garden). Everything looks old, but everything works. The street is peaceful, but you can find in the neighborhood shops (e.g. Sainsbury), restaurants (e.g. Indian), buses (however the city center is not far), etc.
I am in love with this flat. It embodies so many of the elements of efficiency and unity of design that I wanted to stay in the kitchen even though my favorite place in the world beckoned outside. I wanted to pore over absolutely every corner of the place to discover what amazing transformation could occur with the draw of a string or the flip of a board.
The bedrooms are large and separate and there is a cute back garden that has clearly had a lot of love put into it. It would be an ideal place for two couples.
The front door lets out almost directly onto a hiking path of Holyrood park - you can climb to Arthur's Peak, come back, change, and go back within three hours. But you'll enjoy yourselves if you spend a few hours in the park. It offers so many gorgeous views of the city.
We did a lot of laundry and were flummoxed by how the place seems to retain moisture, so be sure to budget plenty of time to allow your things to dry.
The one glaring drawback of this space is that there is only one toilet, and that toilet is in the absolute smallest room I've ever seen in my life - and I've lived in Manhattan for 7 years. It is comically small. Anybody but the smallest people will have to straddle the toilet in order to close the door behind them.
The photo is of a much brighter time in this apartment - likely when the couch and tapestry were new. I was struck by how drab they seemed in comparison with the very vivid photo that I remembered even weeks after booking.
Conrad was very proactive about contacting me early and often, and left very thorough information about the apartment and city in a sheet on the mantle, as he was unable to check me in in person. He's clearly a pro and will surely see to your needs while you stay in this absolutely charming apartment.
