a nice cosy quite place. Difficult to find. Marta is a very nice woman.,
Marta was a wonderful and kind hostess. We loved the opportunity to meet her- we are architects so we felt very at home in her artistic abode. She had endless good suggestions for activities for us around the island. It felt just like staying with a good friend- she definitely went the extra mile to help us in our travels. The view from her balcony is INSANELY BEAUTIFUL- panoramic views of the ocean and Mt. Vesuvius. The little town (Laco Ameno) was super quaint and fun. A tip for the next visitor- if you don't feel like paying for a taxi or bus, you can walk to her place from the Casamicchiola port- a lovely 25 minute hike with gorgeous views. We had only one minor complaint- her house is near the road, so there is some road noise during the day (but usually quiet by night time). Marta was a very gracious hostess, and was happy to roll with our ever-changing travel plans. We would definitely return to Marta's place again in the future!
Marta is a perfect host. The house is very clean and Marta leave me use the kitchen and her wonderful terrace.
The house is located in the beautiful Lacco Ameno the ideal place to visit the island and is very near to the lovely beach of San Montano.
Next year I'll return to her house for sure.
Marta Maria was very nice and welcoming from the beginning to the end of our trip. The appartment she lives in is perfect for couples. It is close to one of the nicest beaches on the island (5 minutes by walk) and to the nearest small town called Lacco Ameno (10 minutes to get to the very center of it by walk, otherwise the appartment is already in the village) with all commodities and pretty port. Don't need scooter or car or anything.
However the appartment would be slighty more comfy if Marta Maria would supply with ordinary and daily-used devices which make your life easier such as toaster, mugs, bowls, tupperwares, wooden spoon, new pans and matched kitchenware. Nothing absolutely necessary but those would be a "plus". As @Monica put it, the real drawback is that the room is on the road : double-glazed windows in such a room would be appreciated.
Anyway Marta Maria is a really good host :)
Our time spent on Ischia was fantastic due in no small part to the excellent hostpersonship of Marta Maria. Her home is close to a lovely stretch of beach and you get a beautiful view of the north west portion of the island from her balcony. The apartment is also close to many shops and restaurants and she was happy to provide recommendations whenever we asked. Marta Maria was a wealth of information about the island and she kindly left a number of maps and brochures in our room. In fact, she even drew up a map when we needed a better idea of the immediate surroundings. She's a pleasure to talk to. We had plenty of space in our room and a good amount of privacy. The bathroom is very close to the room, almost as good as having an en suite. I happily recommend this accommodation to anyone and hope to visit again.
Great host, felt like I was just at home:) The bedroom was roomy and packed with all the necessities and beyond! Marta was great, she was there anytime I needed help with advice about what to do/see on the island, which was very helpful. Hopefully I will get to re-visit again one day!
My sister and I had a wonderful time at Marta's place. She is probably one of the most informative hosts I've ever had! She will tell you everything you need to know to have a good time on Ischia - and how to make it happen. Her place is very comfortable and near a great beach, and a swanky village. All the mod cons are there making it for a very comfortable stay! We loved eating olives and cheese on her balcony and watch the sun go down. The only drawback is that the room is next to a busy road so expect to keep the windows firmly shut and maybe bring ear plugs if you're sensitive. The internet signal is also extremely weak, but you can walk 10 minutes into the village and use the internet in the town square.
I have a lot of friends because I make them easily. I hope that they all appreciate some facet of what I bring to their lives; however, only a few among them understand every aspect of my being. Marta is one of those few. The night that we met, my “old soul” somehow connected with hers. We are a rare breed, but when we meet there is an instant and un-malleable bond.
When Marta converses with someone, even if it is only online or in an email, she has the ability to see beyond the words and into someone’s core. Again, this goes back to Marta’s unmistakably “old soul.” This is such a valuable gift because it makes her not only invaluable as a person, but an irreplaceable friend.
Marta has an unmistakable eye and appreciation for beauty…ALL beauty, and this contributes to her diverse repertoire. It also leads to Marta’s uncanny ability to ALWAYS see the best in people and in situations that might otherwise be terrible. This inspires me every day, which rarely happens to me.
Marta once had the beautiful insight to say to me: “The friends in my life are my family, because they are so important to me and because I choose to have them in my life.” I know that I will have Marta in my life because we are grounded in who we are (even if others do not understand) and because we CHOOSE to be an integral part in each other’s lives. I love this beautiful woman more than I can possibly express, and I know that you will too.
I met Marta Maria last summer while backpacking in Italy. She was the receptionist at the Ring hostel in Ischia, Campania, Italy. I arrived to the island pretty late and the doors to the hostel were locked and I thought maybe it was closed so as I was about to give up hope the door swung open and there she was. We hit it off right away because Marta is just the type of woman that evokes friendship with others. While our time together physically was quite short, we have stayed friends through (website hidden) and I plan to visit her in the very near future. I recommend Marta Maria to other Airbnb members because she is definitely a person you would want to meet; so sweet and kind-hearted. She and I enjoyed many laughs and great conversations in the week that I was on Ischia. Her paintings are pretty dang cool as well. ;)
