I'm a PhD student outside of Philadelphia, PA, USA. I study art history, particularly the art and architecture of Byzantium. I travel frequently, most often to Italy, Turkey, and Greece but I'm always excited to see new places. I lived in Rome for over a year and still consider the city to be my second home. I have also lived in Boston and in Austin, Texas.
Most of my travel is for research purposes, so when I stay somewhere I'm usually looking (email hidden) to come home after a long day of archive reading, museum research, or on-site viewing (at churches and other Byzantine buildings, etc.). I tend to be a quiet guest and spend my time in my room reading or organizing my notes. I do always love to go try a new restaurant, though!
Parlo italiano, ma ho ancora un forte accento. I can also read German and French, but my speaking is not very good at all.
Someday I hope I can host other airbnb members when I settle down :)
