Amalia is a joyful, lovely and so helpful host- I even changed my plans a bit to stay here a second time on the way out of Guatemala, rather than heading into Guate City for my last night.
You won't regret a stay at this bright and comfortable house1
Amalia has a lovely way about her - the house was set up to be super user-friendly with breakfast available and a very friendly family. It was ideal for us. Thank you Amalia.
I've stayed at Casa Amalia twice now. It's a clean, comfortable house in a great location just on the edge of the main part of town, with some great cafes and restaurants close by. Amalia is warm, welcoming and helpful with all sorts of information. I'd happily stay again.
I stayed at Amalia's lovely home for 4 nights. My super comfortable bed and pillow and well organized furniture made for an extremely comfortable stay. Because I don't like to commit to a long time at a place (in case it's the not the right place for me) I did not book Room 4 for my entire 10 days in Antigua. After a night or two I knew I wanted to stay, but her rooms were already booked! I was very sad to leave!
Amalia provides everything you need for a filling breakfast and a relaxing stay. I would not hesitate to stay with her again.
Amalias house was very beautiful and comfortable. The best part was a self serve kitchen with everything one needs to feel at home! I would definitely stay there again!
I enjoyed my time in Amalia's house. Amalia and her husband are really friendly. The room Nr.2 was clean and perfect with the prìvate bathroom.
The room is comfortable & very centrally located, Amalia was friendly & helpful. I would recommend this room to anyone traveling alone, or a couple that does not intend to spend much time at the room- get outside & explore!
Your welcome back anytime.
We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights at Amalia's. The room was cozy and clean, bed very comfortable and bathroom nice and clean.
Location is spot on; close to lots of nice restaurants and cafés. The terrace is really lovely with lots of beautiful flowers and a great view of Volcán Agua, great spot to practice your Spanish in the evenings.
Amalia is super friendly and helpful, especially if your Spanish is a working project! She also has a very cute, but a little timid dog called Didi
Amalia ha sido muy atenta en los días que pasé hospedado en su casa.
Tiene lo necesario para descansar y permanecer confortable en Antigua. Los servicios son muy adecuados.
Muchas gracias, fue un placer conocerte :)
This was one of the best experiences I have had while travelling. The room and house are close to everything and Amalia is a great host, is very helpful, polite and friendly. For the price and experience I would definitely stay here again.
More than welcome to come again.
My boyfriend and I lived at Amalia's house for 2-3 months. We loved our time with her and her family and would definitely return. The rooms are lovely and have storage space, the house is immaculate and well presented, and Amalia is very open, welcoming and willing to help you out wherever she can. The house is a short walk to the centre of town, and a 3 minute walk to the market, so location is great. You will struggle to find a better deal in Antigua than this!
Amalia has been my Spanish teacher for the past year and a half and she is so much fun to work with. I am planning a trip to Guatemala this coming year and am hoping Amalia will have space in her house so I can stay with her! She is very helpful, easy to talk to, and knows a lot about the area she lives in. I think everyone would have an enjoyable experience staying with Amalia.
I took Spanish lessons with Amalia on-line for several months after a visit to Antigua. Based on my experience of her, if I were going there again, I would certainly want to stay with her, meet her family, and get to know Antigua better.
My wife and I rented a room from Amalia and I must say that it was the most pleasurable accommodations we had for our entire trip. Amalia and her family were very friendly. Throughout our stay they were willing to chat with us while always respecting our privacy. The house is very clean and lovely with great views of Volcan Agua. The location is close to the market and not too far from the town center. Should we return to Antigua we will look no further than here for lodging.
I know Amalia from the pass 3 years cause I rent a room at her house in Antigua Guatemala with my wife and my little boy! We could'nt found a better place, those peoples are so great, simple to leave with and they have a beautiful hart! The room was clean and the location is great, not too close from the center so its quiet and peaceful! This old town worth a visit and its super "agreable" ! For now on, we keep a nice friendship with this family and I can say that Amalia is a great friend of mine!!
Amalia has been my Spanish teacher for the past couple years! I would highly recommend a stay with her and her family. She is incredibly nice, very easy to deal with, accommodating and would be a great host for anyone visiting Guatemala.
