Nice room not far from centre.
Great place to stay. Oslo is a very walkable city and Anne Marie's apartment was right in between everything I wanted to see. I didn't have to walk more than 15 minutes to any point. Anne Marie was very helpful with tips for what to see in the short time I had in Oslo. Bed was very comfortable.
Anne made me feel welcome in her place. Her giving me a map of the area helped a lot;
along with directions to the nearest ATM and grocery store. Her recommendations on where to eat were spot on.
Her place is about a 5 minute walk to the nearest tram stop, and 10 minutes walk from a major bus stop and metro stop. This is a central location and easy to get around the downtown area. I would stay here again when I am Oslo. Her English is very good and I had no communication problems. The use of the kitchen and the low price as compared to hotels were welcome.
I enjoyed my stay with Anne-Marie. She was informative and helpful.the room and apartment were clean and comfortable while also being walking distance from many attractions.
Anne Marie was so attentive I didn't even have to ring the doorbell -- she saw me coming up the walk. An adequate bed for a short stay. Thanks for everything!
I stayed with Anne Marie for 3 nights, and I would highly recommend her and her apartment to anyone. She is a perfect host; welcoming and very helpful, making sure her guests needs are met. Also she has the most adorable cat! The room was spacious and almost royal with high ceilings, and the location of her apartment is absolutely perfect. Takk for meg!
Upon my 20 min walk from the coach station I found the apartment easy to find & was very glad I chose Ann Marie's place as it suited my needs based upon what I wanted to do & location which was very central city and a short walk from the gay clubs & bars. Ann Marie made me feel welcome, explained to me how things worked from keys in the door to taking me to the local supermarket. She introduced me to her lovely fostered cat who was pretty amazing and sweet to cuddle. The description was accurate as listed with hot water for the shower, an extremely comfortable bed and mod cons like kettle for tea/(website hidden) In room. Wifi-internet was ok. Neighborhood was quiet however EXTREMELY FRIENDLY (tho i think that could apply to every Norwegian) if you need to ask people for directions, just allow extra time to chat as they love the English accent and I think the English people too! Yes Norway is expensive but with the £ improving its more economical to come here & this place is within peoples budgets if they need to be economical in relation to price with location being city center. I ate out & I made small quick dinner in the Kitchen. Fridge space was allocated & I felt I was able to come & go as I pleased with my holiday. Ann Marie (i guess like with most Norwegians) spoke good English. Ann Marie was very friendly & helpful & advantage of staying as such with a host is that she informed me of cheaper way to get to the airport which I was unaware & off the different many things to do in Oslo she advised. Which I was extremely grateful for her advice.
We did a gift swop that we were both very grateful for. So if you want to take something take Scrumpy Jack cider from UK. She advised me to try some different liqueurs that she had that I could purchase at the airport and Ann Marie was full of useful hints & tips.
Almost forgot to mention that yes it was chilly in Norway overall however it was warming up. There were portable heaters in the room to use to keep the room warm.
Upon coming to Norway again I would defo consider if available Ann Marie's place again. Thankyou.
Anne Marie was always attentive and ready to help and give me good advice about the city! She recommended me some interesting places and definitely was an excellent guide in my adventure at Oslo! Takk!
A great attraction with this listing is the instant book.
I found the directions in getting from the train station a little confusing ,especially at night but once there & orientated it isn't too difficult & there are some other options by metro which may be easier.
The room is large & comfortable & has a flat screen TV, if you have time to watch. Its almost the 1st time in Europe I have found English channels! An easy walk to the city & central station & trams & trains are close by if you prefer.
The WiFi ,at least in the rooms, is terrible. Ann Marie has installed an extender & did try to find options to achieve some improvement when I was there. It may have been better in the sitting room but I was conscious of the host's personal space so didn't try. It is quite a unique listing with a common small kitchen & bathroom which will not appeal to everyone but the room is clean & comfortable & the area is quiet & convenient. Ann Marie is attentive to any needs you may have.
