I live in Truckee CA with my husband and two boys. Our family traveled to Tahoe for many years before finally moving here permanently.

We couldn't have asked for a better stay at Karla's home. Karla was very responsive we had smooth sailing throughout the entire visit. The house was in pristine condition and everything inside was brand new! The kitchen / living room layout is designed with an open layout ideal for large groups and lots of cooking!
We had a little bit of trouble with the stove on Friday night and Karla was wonderful. She reached the after hours person for us and handled our problem quickly and professionally. Everything worked out perfectly. We recommend staying with Karla.
My 11 friends and I had an excellent stay at this cabin. There was plenty of room and bathrooms for everyone. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans so we were able to cook for everyone for all our meals. There were even extra foldout chairs so everyone could be at the dining room table. The cabin was centrally located so we could go rafting in Truckee, hiking in the mountains and boating at Lake Tahoe. We even walked down to the lakes edge and enjoyed the sites. I highly recommend this place!
Our stay here was awesome! The pool and spa were great and the lake is literally across the street. There was maintenance on site if we ever had a problem and Karla was really quick getting back to us if we had any questions. The house comfortably slept 10 of us and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Tahoe.
This apartment is part of a motel, not a condo building. Overall, it's a good place if you're a bunch of guys, or you're in your early 20's and don't care about things like stained bed spreads. But if you're a couple, or a bit older, the place has some draw-backs:
- Everything is straight out of the 70's, including the bathroom, the shag carpet, and the VCR.
- Bring your own light bulbs, because some lights (such as the one next to the bed) don't have any.
- The tub leaks onto the bathroom floor (a liability if you ask me).
- There's a lot of road noise, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
- If you're planning on sleeping on the right side of the king size bed, also bring a sleep mask, because there's a street light directly outside of the window. Even if you lower and shut the blinds, the light shines through the vertical gap between the 2 blinds.
- I would bring my own pillow. It was hard to sleep on the old, flat pillows on the beds.
There will be many more trips to Tahoe for us, but no more stays at this location.
Overall a great experience.
Management - Carla was friendly and knowledgeable. Check-in/out processes were quick and painless. On-site staff were friendly and quick to respond to our needs/questions.
Location - Steps away from the beach and a quick 5-minute drive away from restaurants/grocery stores.
Lodging/Amenities - (Pro) Free bikes/kayak to check out. Pool and hot tub were both clean and well maintained. (Con) The property is being renovated after the recent ownership change. Certain areas inside our unit showed significant wear/tear. Hopefully these would go away once the renovation is completed.
Value - We booked this unit rather last-min and it was still significantly cheaper than the rest of the places with comparable amenities and proximity to the lake. Given the prices we paid it was a good deal.
This place was a little too shabby for my liking. Pretty run down and generally old. It would be fun if you are a group of frat boys like everyone else there that weekend. Maybe that's why there are plastic sheets on the beds? Nice location and helpful staff. Just kinda expensive for the space. We forgot our phone chargers and they promptly mailed them to us and over all Karla was very nice.
Karla was great and very responsive to all emails/questions. The place itself is a bit older and outdated and lacks AC which was a little tough since we were there when it was about 90 degrees- but the location can't be beat. Right across the street from a nice private beach and eay access into Tahoe City. Overall, good experience!
Karla was very responsive and receptive to our needs. Any questions we had prior to our arrival and during our stay were answered promptly. I neglected to note that the unit came with daily cleaning. I was pleasantly surprised to come back to made beds, fresh towels and all the dishes put away.
If you're looking for something close to the Lake beach (a walk across the street) and a relaxed environment- this is the spot! The place is clean, just an old style top floor of a beach house. We loved the little porch with stairs to the picnic tables to BBQ. We had our doggie here too, and he had a blast! Thanks again!!
