My stay at Jorge’s was great. I stayed at his place for over 2 months, from the end of October till late December. Jorge's apartment is a very special place: spacious, welcoming, very well decorated and super clean. The kitchen is really big and has everything you need to make your own dinner, the living room and the bedroom are very charming with a lots of nice details, the futon bed is super comfortable, and the bathroom is just amazing, very modern and with a cool bathtub. Everything is very roomy and you can easily find place for all your things, the building is a beautiful old house in a tree-lined street with nice wood floors and brick walls, the only downside is that it gets a little cold during winter.
The location is ideal both to visit Brooklyn and easily get to Manhattan: the G train stop is 3 blocks away (7-8 min), whilst the C stop is about 10-12 min walk from the apartment. The neighborhood -Clinton Ave/Fort Greene- is absolutely beautiful: the area is very quiet and safe and you’ll find grocery stores, laundromats, coffe places and very good bar and restaurants within walking distance. The Brooklyn fleamarket and BAM are also very close and definitely worth a visit.
Jorge was a great host: friendly, welcoming and very responsible. We’ve never met in person, but he was always available on email and super helpful anytime I needed something or I had any questions about the apartment or the neighborhood.
I had a memorable time in NY. I would definitely stay at Jorge’s again and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
We stayed in this apartment from August 14th to September 3th and we fully enjoyed our time there. The apartment is exactly as it is shown in the photos and the description; it is so nice, clean and cool. It is also very spacious and bright, and the decoration so original and cozy. For us the best option we could make!
The neighborhood, Clinton Hill/Fort Greene is a pleasant residential area with beautiful 19th c. rowhouses. There are excellent restaurants, bars and shops, all within easy walking distance. The apartment is four blocks from Clinton/Washington station - G line – to get you most anywhere in Brooklyn or to a quick transfer for a short ride into Manhattan. There are also different bus stops within a couple blocks for an alternate way to get around - we bought 3 week Metro passes which covered all subway and bus rides. We ended up spending a lot of time in the area: going to all the great restaurants at DeKalb, Lafayette and Fulton, visiting BAM, going to the fleamarket and talking with many neighbors. Also, the location is really good for getting to know other cool neighborhoods in Brooklyn.
The owners Jorge and Terra were great to deal with- very responsive and helpful. They had bought for us a pack of local beer “Brooklyn Lager” and coffee, huge gesture that made us feel from the beginning as in our own home! Jorge was always available on e-mail and even contacted us not long after our arrival to make sure things were OK. It was a pleasure to meet them and we are completely grateful for having had the opportunity to enjoy the apartment and the neighborhood. We just can feel very lucky of the experience we had!
In conclusion- we loved the place, the owners and the neighborhood. We would definitely recommend a stay at Terra and Jorges!

We stayed in this apartment for the month of May 2013. We have been to NYC many times and always stay in Brooklyn if at all possible. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The apartment is exactly as it is shown and described in the listing. It is very roomy, quite bright and being on the 3rd floor gives you a bit of a treehouse feel with all the windows in the living room looking out into the treetops. The building is a beautiful "character" brownstone on a street lined on both sides with similar historic and architecturally classic buildings. Make no mistake- you are in an old building- it's up a couple flights of creaky stairs to the top floor- (which posed no problem for us as we are both somewhat fitness nuts), but the apartment offers a very nice blend of original character and modern convenience. Considering what typical NYC hotels (or in many cases apartments) offer space-wise, this is a wonderfully spacious place to call home in Brooklyn. We bought groceries so we could stay in and make our own dinner several nights- the apartment has everything you will need for that.
The neighborhood (Clinton Hill/Fort Greene) has everything you could ask for. There are excellent restaurants of various types (all you can eat mussels for 15 bucks on Thursday night at Lola just up the street on Myrtle was awesome!) , bars, shops, grocery stores, Laundromats, dry cleaners and even a Post Office all within easy walking distance. We found three very good wine shops (Gnarly Vines on Myrtle, Heritage Wine and Thirst on DeKalb) that all offered very good wine selections at great prices. As craft beer lovers we were blown away with the choices available at the cool Brooklyn Tap House on Myrtle (3 bucks for 21 different beers during happy hour), and with several other great places all within walking distance. The apartment is four blocks from the famous G train to get you most anywhere in Brooklyn or to a quick transfer for a short ride into Manhattan. There are also several really handy bus stops within a couple blocks for an alternate way to get around- we bought 30 day Metro passes which covered all subway and bus rides- a great idea for an extended stay in town.
The owners Jorge and Terra were great to deal with- very responsive and they followed up very quickly with any questions we had. Their contact Liliana met us right as promised when we arrived to give us the keys and a quick lay of the land about the apartment. Jorge was always available on e-mail and even called not long after our arrival to make sure things were OK.
In summary- we loved the place and the neighborhood, the whole rental process went smoothly with no surprises. Excellent value for the money, and we had a memorable stay in our favorite part of NYC.
Our stay at Terra and Jorges was amazing! We stayed in the apartment for about 6 weeks and we couldn't have been happier. The apartment is so nice, clean and cool. We found it to be even bigger than we had expected seeing the photos. And even though the bed is just a futon-style mattress on the floor we found it to be really comfortable and it is so quiet in The neighbourhood so it was a good nights sleep. Also, whenever we had any questions about the place Jorge answered us immediately and was so helpful and accomodating.
Not only is the apartment great, the area is fantastic. So beautiful and with so much fun stuff going on. We ended up spending a lot of time in the area: going to all the great restaurants at Dekalb, visiting BAM, going to the fleamarket and running in the park. Also, the location is really good for getting to know other cool neighbourhoods in Brooklyn. You can walk to a lot of places in no more than 20-30 minutes.
We would definitely recomend a stay at Terra and Jorges!
The place was wonderful and the bathtub was amazing! The hosts were always very quick to reply and the apartment was in a great location near restaurants and shops. Would love to come back in warmer weather!
Great space, great location, amazing hosts. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Jorge has been a very nice guest. There was nothing at all to complain about when I came back home!
Thank you, Jorge, for treating my app so well. :)
Jorge is a very sporty and nice guy! Very respectful and polite. See you Jorge! :)
Jorge was very friendly and left my place spotless. Would host him again :)
Very friendly and talkative guy, always polite and clean. Thank you for give us the oportunity to have you at home,HIGHLY RECOMENDED....
Terra was a great guest and she left the appartment absolutely spotless! Many thanks and you are welcome anytime again!
Terra and Jorge were wonderful guests! Open, interested in discovering our off-the-beaten-path neighborhood, great communications, respectful of the space. Only regret they didn't stay longer so we could get to know them a bit better!
Terra has been a close friend as long as I can remember. I stayed at her place in NYC's Meat Packing District in what still remains one of my most memorable summers. A two week hiatus turned into a 3 year residency in the city. The start of that was due to Terra's gracious hospitality and her extensive knowledge/connections of people/places. Jorge I've met once but was enough to know they are well paired and they would provide a more than ideal hosting for any welcome travellers.
