I am an American from NYC; I came to London in 1972 to finish my PhD and didn't leave. I qualified as a psychotherapist. Hilary my wife is English and is an architect. We bought the old farmhouse in 2006 and carried out extensive renovations. I retired here in 2009; Hilary commuted to London for work until 2012. We have two Border terriers and we walk them through the vineyards every day. We live in a small hamlet close to the village of St. Sernin de Duras; we love SW France for the quality of food - and the food markets are a feast for the eyes; we have also created a large potager for our own organic soft fruit and vegetables. I play golf at Les Vigiers which is nearby and I am a keen cyclist.
We have a converted barn - Gite - on the property which is very comfortable and well appointed and ideal as a base for exploring the region, which is rich in history, and offers many attractions and different activities for all. Here above the lake it is rural, very peaceful and we think it provides an ideal vacation for relaxation and rejuvenation.
