I'm a native Michigander but until last year was living in the Washington, DC area for 9 years, off and on. Nonprofit/activist work was my focus, before the economy went downhill. Last spring was the turning point I had been looking forward to - I stopped working, moved out of DC, and enjoyed a long vacation with friends in California. I spent the fall and beginning of winter in Michigan catching up with family members, planning various aspects of this journey, and researching graduate schools...and here I am, at the beginning of my long-fantasized journey from France to Iran and beyond, blogging along the way...and hopefully breaking some stereotypes.
I'm easygoing, down-to-earth and flexible in general...I believe in honest, respectful (email hidden)n't we all just get along??! I also have a silly sense of humor, but not everybody gets it. My energy/opinions can be really intense, but I make an effort to tone it down to adapt to other energies/perspectives.
