The good stuff...
- location is excellent
- apartment is a great size
- the view is terrific
- clean & tidy
The not so good (although not bad)
- the 84 stairs up
- no control of heating (too hot & too cold)
- could do with a few nicer amenities eg a microwave, some decent crockery etc
Overall a good place, the good outways the not so good by far!
For our six days trip to NYC we booked Francesco’s apartment. It is a huge apartment at the fifth floor that easily offers room for four people. The view from the living room was amazing; you have the Empire State Building and Chrysler Centre right in front of you. Although the place was very clean and well equipped.
The apartment is in the middle of east village, there are a lot of café’s, restaurants and bar’s around and the most famous sights are close. The next subway stop is just 5 Minutes away.
All in all we enjoyed our holyday in NYC very much and are sure we will book Francesco’s place again next time.
Greetings Mathias, Martin and Steffi
I was really pleased with this apartment. It was comfortable and clean; just really nice overall. Francesco was very accomodating and helpful. The location is ideal, lots to do within walking distance. Plenty of stores, restaurants, and nightlife in the area (east village, LES, SoHo, Chinatown). A short subway ride to the theaters, museums, Brooklyn. I'd definitely stay there again!
I love this place! This was my first trip to NY and I don't think I could have picked a better place to stay. The apartment is clean and comfortable. Francesco and his wife are a pleasure and quite accommodating. Francesco was full of good info on transportation, what to avoid and who to trust. The location is superb, lots of bars and restaurants and the view is exactly as it appears in the photo. The morning sunrise from the bedroom is spectacular, and so is the Empire State Building evening light. The building is quiet and the neighborhood feels very safe. You can skip the Deli below the apartment, found the guy NOT friendly and quite overpriced. Stick to the grocery store that is very close. I recommend Cucina Di Pesce for dinner, great food, staff and pricing.
I had a fabulous time and would definitely here again! I am telling everyone I know who is thinking about visiting NY that they MUST stay here.
Fantastic place to stay! The location was great (bars, snacks, restaurants, record shops etc) and the apartment was perfectly comfortable and spotlessly clean. We came with our 12 year old daughter ( who got tired occasionally) so it was a perfect to have a 'home from home' where we could take a break from the city and just relax. I know nobody comes to Manhattan to self cater, but if you don't want to eat out for EVERY meal and feel like a total tourist, then Francesco's apartment is the place for you. The subway was only a 10 minute walk away and if you take the time to study the local bus routes then you realise how well connected the place is. We had a late evening flight on our last day and Francesco was cool and flexible enough to let us leave our luggage in the apartment after our 12:30 checkout. We just kept the keys and came by en route to the airport. Favourite local restaurant? El Vino on E 4th between A & B. We would definitely stay there again!
Would certainly stay here again - great apartment in fantastic location. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby whilst subway uptown or to Brooklyn only 10-15mins walk away. Francesco was very friendly and helpful, despite our delayed arrival. (View is as the photo suggests!)
We had the best time in NY staying at Francesco's, don't hesitate to book this. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The best spot in Manhattan
We had a great time in New York staying at Francesco's place. It is as described with a fantastic view of the Manhattan skyline. The east village area has plenty of bars and restaurants and we found it within a twenty minute walk of china town and Greenwich village. The subway is about ten minutes away. The train from here took us to Times square in about another ten minutes.
