My wife and I live in California because our children moved here in the late 90s and we fell in love with the beauty and sunshine, that is also wonderful in Maine, but we are outdoor people and there is year round activity available here. I love to golf, ride my Harley, and camp so this is a perfect place for us now.
My wife is an avid cook and gardener, and loves the sun we enjoy here, plus she can grow most of her vegetables and herbs she cooks with right in our back yard.
We both were raised in the New England area, but now are content to visit instead of living there. We do often drive from California to Maine and back just to take in the different cultures we experience when we stop along the way.
When we are away form home traveling, we usually end up yearning for home within a few weeks, missing the beaches, wine tasting, and our children and grandchildren, so visits away are short and we are always happy to return.
We love to entertain our family and friends and are looking forward to having guests share our little piece of paradise in both Maine and California. In Maine we have caretakers who are local people and very hospitable, offering to tell guests where to find the best places to eat and play. I built the house in Maine with the intent to move there again and retire some day. It is a work of love, I build for others usually, but this was our "dream house" and it expresses our sense of how we would love to live and in the only other most beautiful state we have ever explored.
We both are peaceful people, and believe that " life is what you make it".
