aloha! we are rose & bryan. we're both massage therapists and spend alot of time out of the city.
Great location. The place was clean and ready for me when I arrived. Rose and Bryan were great, helpful hosts. No bathroom in the apartment was pretty rough. Besides that. All good.
It was nice. Thanks
Good luck beating this location! It's in a really perfect spot in the heart of the city. The apartment has everything we needed, including comfy beds and great water pressure in the (shared) showers. There are lots of restaurants, cafes, and bars nearby and the Italian market downstairs has sandwiches, snacks, and gelato. Rose was a quick and friendly communicator, though I didn't have the pleasure of meeting her or Bryan in person. I hope they keep this place because I'm already trying to think of excuses to come back!
This is truly a cool corner apartment- overlooking the hustle and bustle of north beach and just a stone's throw from chinatown. I was attending a conference at Moscone and the bus was super convenient. Walking is not out of the question, either. Rose was a great host-- very responsive and made sure I was comfortable. The shared bathrooms are very, very sparse but clean. That's the only part that may not be for everyone. You want to remember to have a robe, slippers and possibly shower shoes depending on your own comfort with public showers. I only had a couple of times when I couldn't use the bathroom in my hallway. All in all, he neighborhood offers all you can want and it's a comfortable place to stay.
i loved being the the hubbub of north beach. rose and bryan weren't around and i never met them but the apartment was as described and both were easily available for any questions, advise etc. key acquisition was handled by a nice neighbor and everything went super smooth. thanks for a great SF home base during my week there!
simply: we had a wonderful time. nice little apartment. the building is nothing special, but it's well kept. a very minimal kitchen, but it was fine for making breakfasts. shared bathrooms are clean and modern. i've stayed in enough hostels and dive hotels all over the world that this place looks like a palace. and there's a certain priceless look of envy that ordinary tourists give you when you open the door on the street that leads up to your apartment.
if you're looking for a zen-like retreat, this probably isn't for you: windows opening onto a busy intersection, motorcycles and buses driving by with tour guides talking over loudspeakers, sometimes a crush of people yapping right outside...but if you want to stay in the hilton, stay in the hilton. on the other hand if you want to experience living in the city, this is as good as it gets. the 30 bus is a quick ride to market street whence you can take other lines anywhere in the city. the neighborhood is a little touristy of course, but it's very safe, and everything you need is nearby: an awesome little italian market/convenience store just below; great coffee-shops everywhere (esp greco and trieste); a molinari is a killer deli a block away; union street produce two blocks; city lights book store three blocks; yoga studio four blocks; great bars and restaurants EVERYWHERE; coit tower and the powell/hyde cablecars are short walks; not to mention chinatown. we ate our way across the city. if you're the drinking type, make sure to check out the vesuvio and the comstock. i can't say enough about the area.
thanks again to rose and bryan for having us. good communication and they left us alone.
Rose and Bryan were great hosts. They were both very easy-going and accommodating. Rose even picked me and my colleague up from the airport! The apartment is centrally located in North Beach, at the intersection of Little Italy and China Town. The location is terrific, within walking distance to pretty much everything, with tons of public transit options. Bryan showed me around the apartment and made sure I had everything I needed. The apartment was clean and tidy, with two futon beds, a small kitchenette, a mini-fridge, and a desk. The wifi worked well with my MacBook Pro. There was an air conditioner unit available, but I didn't end up needing it since the temperature in the apartment was comfortable (mid-June).
Note that the washroom was located outside the unit in the hallway, shared with other tenants in the building (there were 3 washrooms available in case the closest one was in use). This might be common for triangular corner units like this, but I hadn't encountered it before. The washroom was cleaned daily, so I was okay with it. It reminded me of living in the dorms in college :) Also, there was quite a bit of noise from the street, enough that I wore earplugs when I slept. I live in a small town, so I'm not accustomed to street noise, but with such a central location in SF some street noise just comes with the territory.
All in all, I felt Rose and Bryan were very responsive, accommodating hosts, and the apartment had everything I needed for my 4-night stay. The location was terrific. Just be ready for dorm-style washrooms and potentially a fair bit of noise from the street.
Rose's apartment is in a great location, central to everything, great cafe's and public transport options. Tony's pizza is a must! An easy 10min walk into the financial district and 20 to the ferry terminal. The bed is super comfy and the wifi was quick. The shared bathroom was always clean and the water hot. The building is a little tired but that was fine as we were out most of the time.
Rose was a great host, easy to contact. I would recommend for a short stay where location is important.
Best neighbourhood in San Francisco. :)
Well my friends and I picked this fabulous location to stay to really explore the city to determine if it's the right fit for a move. Obviously a few days can not determine that as we're acting as tourists and exploring the amazing features of the city, however this clean, bright and centrally located home has made our experience wonderful! Rose and Bryan are super nice and accommodating while sharing their home with us! Great place, great price!!
Very sweet people, the perfect houseguests! Always welcomed again.
Rose was a great guest. She rented the house to host a baby shower which meant there were more people here than usual but when I returned everything looked great.
Easy to communicate with and very responsible.
Easy going, communicative and witty! Rose and Bryan were great guests! I hope one day we a mojito in SFO! :)
"The Queen of Easy-Going," that's what I call Rose. She's in the flow while remaining on top of things.
Rose was my housemate and now she's my neighbor, and frankly I'll miss her while she travels.
You would be honored to have this kind-hearted, fun, and talented young woman in your home! Just send her back!
Rose is my neighbor and I want to travel the world with her! She's really one of the best.. outgoing, always exploring, amazing massage therapist, and probably one of the funniest people I know.
I am Rose's housemate, so can give you the real dirt on her from up-close & personal...she is a joy to live with!
...relaxed, happy, thoughtful. She never seems agitated even though she drinks really, really strong coffee. She is generous with her food, which is a truly wonderful quality in a roommate, especially if you like super healthy kale soup. yum! She is also very clean, yet another fine roommate quality. All this & responsible & a good communicator.
Apart from being a great person to share a home with, Rose is kind, a person of integrity, personable, warm & open and fun!
