My co-worker and I stayed here to attend a conference/convention. The location is easy to find, and having parking was extremely convenient. Rachel greeted us and made us feel welcome immediately, showing us around and suggesting some local places to check out. She is also very quick to reply to any questions or comments. Her home is of course beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The surrounding neighborhood was a lot of fun to walk around and explore as well. My co-worker and I both had a wonderful time.
Rachel was very welcoming to my husband and I. She makes you feel right at home, but does check in to make sure your stay is going fine. Her home is quite relaxing and the neutral palate of soft wool and textures is a nice balance to the modern concrete look. There are very nice pottery pieces to look at. You can tell she and her family take pride in their artful collection of decor and books.
The property is clean and private. The air conditioner works very well.
The location is spot on for little jaunts down the street for sight seeing, food or drink. You can walk to the maritime museum (Star of India and USS Midway), Horton Plaza and Seaport Village in about 20 min.
Rachel was very friendly, warm and welcoming. The pictures were exact representation of the actual place. The location was really convenient, right in Little Italy, close to everything within 3 minute walking. The place had everything we needed. We would definitely stay with her again!
5 stars! Great neighborhood, beautiful apartment, great host. Very thoughtfully appointed apartment including shampoo, toothpaste, even stuff for breakfast! Location is unbeatable. My wife and I are marathon training and we popped out the front door and the water was a block away, very convenient. Restaurants are great in the area, lots of good food (a bit on the pricey side but thats SD for you). Do the decobike rentals across the street. We snagged those for a day and took them on the ferry to Coronado - was a great day. Overall very pleased and would recommend this place!
Rachel was an amazing host that briefed us on the space and neighborhood before departing. The apartment is gorgeous and unique, and so well designed by Rachel herself. An excellent option for anyone looking to stay downtown.
Rachel's home was as beautiful and comfortable as the photos and description stated. The house was immaculate. My husband and I and our 8 year old had a lovely vacation there. The urban downtown location in little Italy suited us perfectly since we could walk to so many restaurants, parks and the waterfront to see the boats and tour museums. We would stay there again (and hopefully will on our next SD vacation).
Not only is this studio a wonderful place to stay, but Rachel is a great host. She is very friendly, considerate and quite knowledgeable about the area.
The studio is located on India Street in the heart of Little Italy. No car is needed because there are restaurants and bars galore, the Saturday farmer's market, and the trolley is one block away. You can walk to downtown if you like a night scene or Balboa Park in the day or even catch the ferry to Coronado.
Of course being upstairs from the Harbor Breakfast is a plus; especially first thing in the morning if you don't want to cook. The food is delicious.
Rachel's thoughtfulness and personality shines - she leaves no stone unturned. The refrigerator was stocked with coffee and cream for the morning, as well as eggs and muffins. A choice of local craft beer and wine was also there.
Of course, cable and high speed internet is provided.
Rachel is very charming and friendly. The studio is comfortable and beautifully decorated with artwork and her own personal weaving. I would love to stay there again and will recommend it to everyone.
Very accommodating and a wonderful host. Provided extra cots, blankets, towels, breakfast, coffee, etc to make our stay very welcoming. Very responsive and extremely nice. A1 host!
Rachel was such a gracious and helpful host! She had great suggestions for restaurants and things to do. The apt was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully decorated with amazing furniture and art. The location is great and you can easily walk to many shops and restaurants. We would definitely book with Rachel again!
Our time in San Diego was awesome! Rachel and Rachel's place were great. It was well stocked for a forgetful airbnb guest and to help you get your trip off right. (Pack of local beers in the fridge! Yums) Rachel was super knowledgable about the area and had awesome recommendations. She was totally our best host yet!
Little Italy area was super fun to stay in. There are tons of restaurants and watering holes to hangout at. We did our trip without a car and had no problem getting around. If your capable we highly recommend checking out the Point Loma tide pools. Kind of a no brainer, but make sure you go during low-tide. :)
It was a pleasure to host Rachel and her family. As she is an airbnb hostess herself, they were the ideal guests. It was interesting to talk with her and compare our experiences. The cottage was left exceptionally clean and tidy. Being a host, you are know who is a great guest and this group definitely is in the top of our list! We would love to see them again and highly recommend Rachel to all other hosts.
Rachel is the most welcoming hostess I've ever known. Her home is absolutely gorgeous. If you're looking for a seriously stylish place to stay during your next visit to San Diego, this is it. And talk about location. The loft is right in the heart of Little Italy, with tons of shops and restaurants nearby. Walk to downtown or hop on public transportation or the nearby 5 freeway to get anywhere else you need to go. Plus Rachel will steer you to all the best stuff SD has to offer.
