Sean and his family are kind and friendly. Staying with them is staying with an adorable family with love. His place is spacious, clean, and modern. I meet other guests and all of us shared our experience.
Staying with Sean, Karla, and Seamus was such a treat. The house was beautiful and our room was perfect. Everything was clean and our hosts were personable and nice. Seamus was a polite delight and even showed us spin moves off the stairs. We travelled with our 6 month old boy and we were asked if we had a bed for him and they even set up a diaper pail for us in our room. I loved staying here and would highly recommend staying with Sean and family to anyone. They definitely made our first airbnb experience a perfect one.
It was absolutely great! We felt like at home during our stay. Everything is clean and there is absolutly nothing to complain about. They are a lovely young family.
If you are looking for home, away from home, THIS is you home in Seattle :) Our vacation wouldn't have been the same if we stayed at a different place.
Sean and his family are incredibly helpful and friendly. Their place is huuuge! And the location is great. You can take a walk at Lincoln Park, which is right across the street, or drive down to Alki Beach. (Thank you for the recommendation ;) ). Downtown Seattle is only 10 minutes away. If you are not willing to pay a fortune for parking, just take the bus. (again, thank you:) ). Bus stop is only 100 yards away from home.
This place is THE place to stay in Seattle. It's huge and clean and conveniently located. Not to mention how nice Sean and his family are. I cannot stress this enough!!
This was our third stay with Sean and Karla, this time for two nights. Once again we had a very pleasant stay. They are most gracious hosts and allowed us to use their kitchen to fix our own complete breakfast, not just snacks.
Sean, Karla and their son were amazing hosts. We arrived late at night and both then and in the morning they made us feel like we were visiting friends. The house and amenities were perfect for what we needed and we loved walking around the area and park and felt like true locals. Best airbnb experience so far!
I only stayed for one night as I was in Seattle for work. Sean was so kind he showed me their home, and we had a good little conversation. I felt very welcome. The room was clean and the bed comfortable! I look forward to returning to Seattle and hopefully staying with Sean again.
We were very comfortable during our short stay with Sean and his family. Their home is beautiful, and in a lovely spot in West Seattle. The bed was very comfortable, and the coffee machine easy to operate-both important features! We would stay here again, but would ask for the room on the north side of the house. It would be cooler and probably quieter; we could hear road noise during the night. However, there is a box fan in the room which helped a lot. Overall - thumb's up. Lovely place and lovely people.
The debug session was productive but ran long. It was clear the problem would not be solved in one day and I would need to stay an extra day. Changing the return flight was not a problem, it never is with Southwest. My neighbor Donna was willing to check in on my dogs Kaspar and Misha. I had a rental car. That left only a hotel. Expedia, Travelocity, Kayak (worthless!) all told me there was not a single hotel room available within 50 miles of Seattle, except for a single room at the La Hacienda in Kent by the interstate. I camped out at a restaurant in Southcenter mall while I explored options. My fallback was to exchange my compact rental car for a van, park it somewhere quiet and try to sleep in it. I decided to explore the AirBnB site and was surprised by the apparent quality and value of the rooms. I could rent an entire house on the beach for less than a crappy room at the Ramada! There were questions: Could I sign up and rent a room the same night? Would the room be anything like the photo? Would it be uncomfortable treating someone's house like a hotel room? I figured I had nothing to lose, so I started the registration process. It was thorough (by website standards), requiring an email address, a driver's license (submitted via photo), access to a social site (luckily my old (website hidden) account still existed), and a personal photo. It took about an hour or so to make it through the process, mostly involving finding a photo of myself; I was not about to submit a webcam photo -- nobody looks good in a webcam photo. Once the registration was completed, I could exchange messages directly with the hosts and book rooms. I browsed through the available rooms near Renton and settled on three. I requested bookings with all three, hoping that at least one would respond. It was almost 9pm by now and my expectations were low. Sean, with a "Northwest Modern Home" responded within minutes with an invitation. I completed the booking for $65/night (+$8 for AirBnB), which was the first and only time AirBnB asked for a credit card. I paid in advance to AirBnB for the room, then received the exact address and driving instructions from Sean via SMS to my phone. I packed up my computer and drove to the house. The drive was a bit longer that I expected, but that was mostly due to my being unfamiliar with the area. I arrived and was warmly greeted by Sean, who offered open use of his living room and kitchen with a well-stocked refrigerator. Sean then showed me to my room upstairs. I only had 3 hour's sleep the night before so I was ready to drop into bed. Sean could tell and left me to my room. The room and accommodations were just like the photo, and I instantly felt more relaxed than...
Sean and Karla were wonderful hosts and I had a great time , even though it was brief as I had just a quick one night stay. The house is amazing and brand spanking new. Easily better than a hotel and for sure much cleaner! If I had time to cook, I would have made breakfast for everyone because their kitchen is gorgeous!
As for location, the house is close to downtown Seattle and reachable by bus or car. An additional bonus is that Alki Beach is just a short hop away, so if you are visiting Seattle during the summer time, this location is one of the best.
Overall 20 out of 10 with large rooms, Downy soft / clean towels, an amazingly soft bed that you don't want to leave and fantastic amenities; perfect in every way!
I had the great pleasure of hosting Sean + family for a short week and found them to be excellent guests
I returned to a clean and sharp apartment so I would welcome them back any time and recommend them highly to anyone!
I was traveling with a buddy and we were at our wit's end looking for a place to stay when we found Sean's home. We stayed there for a night and were so impressed by their home that we stayed again when we returned to Seattle after a road trip.
On the first night, we stayed in Seamus' room, and our other stay was in the other room. The beds are possibly the most comfortable I have ever laid on- it was like sleeping on clouds. Sean and Karla were also kind enough to provide an air mattress for us as we wanted separate beds. It was on our second stay that we finally got to interact with the family more, especially their extremely adorable son Seamus! We had a lovely dinner together and night-capped with some old fashioned whiskey and cigar.
It's only half an hour by bus to downtown and there is a park across the road and a beach behind it. It seemed like a safe neighborhood even at night.
I can go on and on, but this is the place to be! Lovely family, immaculate house, great location... I don't usually write reviews but this place definitely warranted it. Highly highly recommended.
