Let me know any questions you might have. Thanks,
I loved this apartment, and Fred is the perfect host.
This is a duplex apartment which has a huge lower level with the kitchen, working and relaxing space. Very light with massive windows. It also has a bathroom with bath and shower.
Upstairs is the bedroom, separate toilet and access to outside.
Outside is actually on two levels. The upper roof level has 360 views including views of the Statue of Liberty.
Fred was simply the most amazing host. He was always available when needed but apart from that, left you alone.
I am just moving over to the US from the UK, and through the chaos, this was the stable home from home.
Thank you Fred for being a fantastic host with an amazing apartment.
Quiet but funky artist's loft. Wonderful space to come home to each night and wake up in each morning! As advertised, truly an oasis. Great rooftop patio and garden.
Went for the best oven baked pizza at Guisppina on 6th Ave - very friendly service as well. Found the Brooklyn Bakery a day before we were leaving (across from the meditative Greenwood Cemetery).
It is important to be able to navigate stairs well since the room and bedroom are up one and two flights of stairs. It is also helpful to like caring for cats and enjoy having them around.
I would highly recommend staying here if you want a comfortable in-home Brooklyn experience!
A beautiful apartment and wonderful host. And there are parrots in the neighborhood!
I would without hesitation reccommend a stay at Fred's home, and hope that it would be available when I visit again.
It was super clean, and Fred is an amazing accommodating host.
Fred's place is fabulous. Clean, well kept and had some great art. Fred was extremely accomodating alowing for an early check-in. The location is perfect for Prospect Park, South Park Slope, Park Slope and Greenwood Heights. Very spacious 3 story with great sunlight and bonus roof top deck. I will certainly try and stay here again upon return to Brooklyn.
Fred was a very welcoming, but unobtrusive host. We had old, dear friends over for a memorable dinner on the roof overlooking the water and with views of the Statue of Liberty. A perfect evening!
Fred's place is as nice as what previous users have said: it's quiet, it's large and well equipped, with very nice objects, books and art pieces. It's a great place for people who have already been in NYC and want to explore a different neighborhood or for those who want to have a larger space (with two terraces) for the price of a small studio in Manhattan. You'll be greeted by the Statue of Liberty as you'll leave the apartment to walk to the subway and the two cats when you'll get home from a long day in the city! If you need and extra bed, the turquoise-green sofa bed is really comfortable, I slept there 4 nights in a row without any problem. Fred seems like he's an experienced host and traveller because everything is very easy to arrange. I would go back anytime and will not hesitate to recommand it.
I'd never used Airbnb before and didn't know anyone who had so I really didn't know what to expect - just hoped for the best. And that's what I got. Fred's home is a wonderful space - open, clean, peaceful and filled with wonderful art and plants. I'm sorry I'm missing what the deck and roof will look like in full bloom. If you've heard of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, it really does. It's a fruit bearing peach tree which blossomed right before I left in front of the house. As a host, Fred is very thoughtful and helpful. He knows where absolutely everything you need is located and how to get there. If you have any questions you need answered immediately, he does. Neighborhood is safe for walking around at night to the local eateries, etc. Should you choose to eat in, the kitchen is well equipped. Go and enjoy. You won't regret it. And you'll love the cats!
We had a great stay at Fred's. The place is nice and airy and simply decorated, with lots of lovely artistic touches. If you're looking for a quiet location this is the place for you. It was so beautifully quiet at night we couldn't believe we were in Brooklyn! There were a couple of great little bars and restaurants around the corner on 6th, if you want a cozy bar with good food try Toby's which has brick oven pizza's.
And an amazing hipster style cafe on 5th, between 19th and 18th, called Roots cafe - which you can easily miss, but has great coffee. Most of the action was further down on 5th and 7th Ave. The house is also in walking distance from Green Wood cemetery and Prospect Park - both of which are worth a visit.
Fred was a very friendly host, also super flexible and super available - and his cats are cute too! His studio is downstairs from the actual house, and he is sometimes around if you need anything. Overall it's a lovely place in a friendly part of Brooklyn.
