We had a great time at Sandy's! The house was clean, comfortable and quiet. The surroundings were great and with the beautiful fall foliage, it was just lovely! I highly recommend Sandy's lovely home!
My two nieces and their friend accompanied me to Sandy's fantastic farmhouse. It was exactly what us city girls needed to get away from it all. We arrived at Sandy's late at night so it was a bit difficult to find the farmhouse at first. Once there, we had the whole house to ourselves. My niece and her friend are chefs so they made all our meals and upon Sandy's recommendation we stopped in Brattleboro for all our food before heading up to Washington. There was plenty of room to cook and we had all the utensils needed. I was delighted to do the dishes because of the fantastic view I had. We enjoyed sitting outside when it wasn't raining. It was so beautiful and peaceful. There were three bedrooms and we were very comfortable except for one mattress but there was a futon downstairs so we just used that. We so enjoyed the horses and the cows. One hot humid day we walked up to the creek and spent hours playing in the water. We were able to visit Waterbury, Montpelier, Barre, Randolph and Brookfield from the farmhouse. It was wonderful visiting some of the goat farms and creamery. An added plus was visiting Ikuzi and Jeanne at Romulus Craft studio just across the street. What incredible talented artists. I can not say enough about what a nice person Sandy was. She responded immediately to my questions and helped with directions and ideas in which to enjoy our time. She respected our privacy but was always available to help us out. Since she was fairly new at this she was open to suggestions regarding the mattress. I wish we could have been there longer than 3 nights.
Response from Sandy:
Thanks, Cheryl. I'm getting rid of that bed and replacing it with a comfortable one. Sorry. Hope you will come back.
We spent a wonderful weekend at Sandy's farmhouse. The place has so much character and history. We loved the row of windows above the kitchen counter given view to the cows wandering the pasture. Sandy was so accommodating. Her son who lives not so far from the farmhouse paid us a visit. He recommended a few nice hiking trails, one of which was Camel's Hump, about 45min away from the house. This is a great place to stay for anyone looking to relax, explore central Vermont or do outdoor activities.
