I have nothing but good words for Katy. I was stranded with a different reservation pending for a long time. I contacted Katy and she approved a same day reservation within an hour. As for the house, I would recommend it if you want to feel at home away from home. Great housemates and great host.
Katy was an amazing host and made my first month in CA a great experience! She really works to help others and I'm glad I had the fortune to stay at Stonehenge!
This was one of the best times of my life. Katy was incredibly helpful and everything was really accurate. Their systems in place for dealing with residents were well thought out and elaborate. 10/10 would stay again.
This was a great stay. The people that you meet in this little place is amazing. It is a comfortable stay although a little bit messy. It definitely has a lot of character. It is very similar to staying in a frat house - the place you want to be for excitement, like watching movies and eating popcorn or networking.
Stonehenge is a great house in a great neighborhood. It is situated behind two houses along the street, giving it the feel of a cabin in the woods, even though it's right smack in a residential Palo Alto neighborhood. The neighborhood is so safe and residents come and go so often that the door was never locked. This was not a problem during my month at the house, and it has evidently never been so before.
Katy introduced herself as the "RA" and greeted me with "welcome home" when I arrived. She and her co-RA, Erin, have a color-coded system of cookware, bedsheets, etc., set up, so I immediately felt like I had a place in the house when I arrived. They and the other guests were all great folks to be around.
Everyone there was really friendly. There were a lot of people, but that's to be expected. Would stay again.
It was fantastic; the place, the people, the community. super laid back, incredibly friendly. Katy's not just a host, she's an amazing friend and she really cares about people.
Some points of interest:
- there's a great kitchen with a well stocked spice cupboard, but not much fridge space
- fire pit & grill out back make for frequent parties :) don't worry it won't keep you up at night though
Highly recommended, whether it's just for a few days or for a few months.
I came into my summer at Stonehenge with some serious reservations. After all, who wouldn't be kind of terrified to live with 11 other people they didn't know? However, they were pretty much completely unfounded. Yeah, two bathrooms and one kitchen can sometimes make things awkward with so many roommates (though way less so than I expected), and having to sleep in a bunk room with three other people can sometimes lead to imperfect sleep, but these minor inconveniences were definitely offset by how much fun I had. Not only were all my roommates both responsible and fun, but there is also a cloud of people associated with Stonehenge who occasionally come visit to cook out, so it's never lonely. Next time I'm in the bay area, I'll definitely be back to visit!
I drove to Silicon Valley to scope out the area and Katy's place is one of the coolest laid back houses I stayed at. The house has a lot of character with a nice warm feel to it and everyone was really cool.. Good mix of both males and females at the house which creates good balance.
So awesome! Lively hacker house full of robots, dinosaurs an awesome people!
Had another great two weeks at Stonehange after staying at Katy's house already last year. Stonehenge is great and there are interesting people walking to meet with around the clock. If that's not enough, Katy and Garrett make sure that you have everything you need. It's a shame I have to leave again already. Thanks guys!
Katy is an excellent host and a great friend and mentor. She has many, many connections all over Silicon Valley and more than just providing food and shelter for folks, can help people build things together. The house is amazing, and very well kept. I look forward to hanging out there and meeting the people who stay there as well :)
The people at treehouse are amazing. Staying with this awesome crowd will allow you to understand the silicon valley culture in a deeper dimension. If you are a geek who is interested in cool stuff you will learn plenty!
Plus, people are super laid-back. If you are easy-going you will have a memorable time at treehouse.
A wonderful place to hang out, connect with nerds, launch a company, build a spacecraft, go for a swim, climb a tree, compose a song, or plant a garden.
I've lived at the treehouse even before it started doing AirBnB - wonderful people in a very cool house. Amazing community.
Treehouse is clearly the only place to stay when you are up for some fun people and great discussions. You're never lonely or bored here and the other guests are consistently amazing people.
I know a few people who live at Treehouse personally (Katy for one) and a few more somewhat but not as well; they're all excellent people. I stayed at Treehouse for a bit less than a week last winter and I enjoyed every minute.
I lived at this place for several months before it went up on AirBnB and absolutely loved it! Katy and her housemates are absolutely wonderful, inspiring, and fun. Highly recommended.
The Treehouse is a cool house with fast internet and really great people. It's fun to just kick back and chat with the geeks who come and go. And Katy is a super awesome host!
This hacker house is awesome. There are interesting people, soft couches, and crazy decorations. You'll get the full "Silicon Valley" experience here, this house even has it's own garage start-up. My only warning: Once you visit you won't want to leave.
