This place was incredible! We have learned with AirBnB to look for unique places for an alternative experience to chain hotels when travelling. Brea's place is funky, quirky, unique, but comfortable and a paradise within the city. The decorating and artwork both inside and outside the room in the courtyard was inspiring to both my wife and I. I had a party of 6 ranging from 18 years old to 56 years old and everyone would love to stay here again. Despite year round tenants we had plenty of privacy and access to the amenities was never a problem. Thank you Brea and your tenants for making this an enjoyable stay.
My three weeks with Brea were epic. The place was always clean and Brea was more then happy enough to share her space with me. All the appliances worked incredibly well, the location was exactly what I was hoping for. Close to the Bart and the 24 on ramp. There are many cool places to check out around the area, and Brea's extremely knowledgeable not only about life and politics, but also will expose you to all that the bay has to offer. I would recommend this place to anyone with an adventurous and open minded spirit.
Actually when I arrived this area, I had a little scared in the neighbor. Especially when I couldn't find the destination, and he shouted to me that please toward the west and follow the 24th street. West! Sun set! Can you see the sun?
Normally the girls only know the left and right~~ After that Brea showed us a nice and quiet place. Two big and very beautiful bathroom. Also he is very nice to let us use the kitchen to cook the dinner. Everything is very good! Really!!! I liked that place!!!
- The bathroom requires a trip through a large courtyard, which is poorly lit at night.
- If you are allergic to smoke, this is not for you. The unit is smoke-free, the host not.
- There are curtains missing on the windows and door to this unit. Especially at night, whatever happens in your room or bed, is viewable from the courtyard by other guests.
- When we raised these concerns, Brea became insulting and verbally abusive. AirBnB policy prevents me from sharing more...
MICHAEL - you're a blatant LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!
you NEVER even spoke to me.
complete lack of honesty or integrity.
pathetic excuse for a human.
Our host was welcoming. The set up was great for the 6 of us. The rooms and bathroom were nice. It was a cool gem tucked away in Oakland. We only stayed one night but we liked it.
This is a great place to stay for its proximity to San Francisco and Berkeley. It is very spacious and Brea and the other roommates are very friendly and respectful. It is located in West Oakland, an area full of history, ask Brea to share the stories of the area which are not in the American history textbooks.
A lot of care has gone into developing this warehouse space. The room where we stayed was near the back and street noise was not much of an issue. There are two shared bathrooms, an outdoor shower and a good sized shared kitchen.
"Gorgeous" artist warehouse space - hardly, "bizarre" - definitely!
It was my mistake in not interpreting the description of your property, for I would have never booked a property with a detached (regally designed - not) communal bathroom(s).
As others have stated, the kitchen had an odor of smoke and was not used. One wolf range does not equate to a "professional" kitchen.
The accommodations were large and contained 3 beds, but w/o curtains on all of the windows, a person wouldn't feel comfortable sleeping in 2 of the beds. I question the lock-ability of the doors to the units as well. Most of the chairs in the unit were dirty/soiled and had an odor to them. I also didn't appreciate the washer/dryer being used at midnight right outside our door.
The trip to the bathroom in the middle of the night while it was raining and then stumbling over the steps leading to the back door due to inadequate lighting was a treat.
This was a memorable experience, one, which will never be repeated.
we'll leave the light on for you kevin
testify my brother, testify!!
This warehouse space was so welcome after two weeks on the road camping. The kitchen, bathrooms, and bedroom were all spotlessly clean. Brea was an excellent host and we felt immediately welcome. And it was a great location from which to explore San Francisco!
We started our Tour along the Westcoast in San Francisco at Brea's.
It couldn't have been a better start!!
The location was absolutly great and transported the spirit of San Francisco.
Our rooms were very large and owned the spirit of Brea. They were clean with enough space. Linens and towels were clean too. Public transporting systems are within walking distance.
Brea himself is a great person and has got a interesting "Weltanschauung".
We'll definitly return to this location. This spot is definitly worth a trip.
This place was great to stay at. The room was huge with a big bed and a big desk so I could get some work done. The courtyard was a nice spot to catch rays and chat with the other people living/staying there. Brea was friendly and checked in on me while still giving me privacy. Like everyone else said - the bathrooms are pretty darn amazing. If you stay here you need to also go eat at the amazing Korean restaurant a block away.
