A lovely home with warm, welcoming hosts. I had a really comfortable stay and would definitely stay here again.
A sleeper of a listing. quaint older neighborhood that smelled of fresh blooms, fantastic view, great conversations with intelligent people.
Nice neighborhood, very nice, well-managed accommodations. Would be happy to use again.
The house was as described. Cute, cozy, and great proximity to all that the Bay Area has to provide. All around great stay.
This was an interesting stay. Originally, I had arranged to drop off my items earlier than the check-in time. When I arrived however, I had to ring the doorbell and knock on the door repeatedly before Kaya answered. There was mention of black mold in the bathroom the day I arrived and I noticed a few ants crawling around the shower. There was water and two pieces of chocolate on each pillow, which was nice. The room was nice, but my stay was rather awkward and I was pretty uncomfortable being there. One day I came home and the remaining slices of pizza I had ordered were gone. Kaya later told me that Josh fed my pizza to their chickens. Kaya was gracious enough to order more pizza as a result, but I was rather confused by Josh's decision to give away the only food I had in their home to their chickens.
Kaya and Josh have a beautiful home in El Cerrito. My boyfriend and I spent two nights there and were very comfortable. They have a lovely backyard with chickens and an amazing view. Kaya was great about being in touch via text before and during our stay.
I just found the card and caramels. Thank you!
Room was as advertised. very clean and cozy. Neighborhood was great. View from the balcony awesome. Funny chickens in the yard.
Kaya and Josh are very nice hosts. They were very friendly, helpful and we feel very welcome. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful and the view from the balcony was beautiful. It's easy to reach SF downtown, it is just a 30min drive with BART and 20min to berkeley university.
We stayed at Kaya's place for a week and It was a really nice experience. Although we didn't get to know each other much because most of time we were out, Kaya and her husband Josh, was friendly and nice, and provided everything we need. Thank you very much!
Kaya and Josh are very nice hosts.
They were always friendly and helpful.
Their place was like shown on the pictures. Beautiful! We had a good time.
It's easy to reach the Bay Area and the northern national parks.
SF downtown is just a 30min car ride.
Kaya stayed in our apartment.
Clean, quiet, great guests. Even brought us lemons from their tree. We wanted to give them some of our veggies to take home but totally spaced!!
Kaya was a terrific guest - super great communicator and such a lovely presence. Hoping she will stay here again when she comes to visit her friend's brand new baby!
I'm a friend of Kaya's and Josh's and have visited/stayed over many times. Obviously I think they're awesome people! They're very friendly and will take great care of you.
The guest room is great, there's lots of space and it's very comfortable with nice decor. The rest of the house is awesome too, with very nice decor, and views of the bay. They make a great breakfast with eggs from the chickens in the backyard (and the chickens are adorable!), with good coffee.
I've known Kaya and Josh before they were Kaya and Josh. Solid folks who do what they say they will do. Their house is fabulous and has a beautiful view of the bay from the back porch. I've never stayed at their house but I've been to many a party and knit night and know they have great taste in decore and furnishings. You wont be disappointed.
