Let me be clear that on July 31, prior to the booking I sent you the following message:
I would like to book your place on behalf of my friend Constance who I believe has been in contact with you. Are you able to offer a special rate for the period Aug, 05 to Aug 26. Looking forward to your reply and confirmation so I can book right away. Many thanks"
"Absolutely. I will send you a special offer for $x,xxx. Just to make sure you're in the loop. This is what I've told Constance:
I am willing to be flexible on the price for that long of a stay. A couple things you should know: one, there is a cat who lives here that needs minimal care. Just making sure you are aware of that and like cats. Two, there is only one proper king bed in the master bedroom. The other bed is a brand new queen sized aerobed in the downstairs bedroom. Both rooms have their own bathrooms. Just want to be clear so there are no surprises."
So you knew clearly that the booking was for Constance and not for me personally. Constance and my colleague Vlad who was also staying are both well educated and responsible professional colleagues. I was staying at another place in San Francisco for much of the time and visited your home a number of times and saw that they were taking good care of your home. I accept that they may have been somewhat casual about leaving lights on and clothes /shoes around when they were not at home which you may have noted when you visited one evening without advising them in advance. But that's not unusual when guests are on holiday in such a wonderful beach location.
I know you were concerned to be sure that your cat was well taken care of and you may have been concerned when you visited to see that the cat food you had provided was not being used. I can assure you that Constance is also a cat lover she certainly did feed and take care of your cat.
