Megan's apartment is truly cozy. We stayed a week and loved the location since you're in the middle of Greenpoint with many cafés and bars around as well as close to Bedford Ave and all the hipster places of Williamsburg. The G train is only a short walk away, the way to the L train Bedford Ave takes about 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend staying there. Also if you need a cab to the airport some early morning, the McGuiness car service around the corner proved to be realiable and moderately priced (38 $ to JFK). However, the only downside was that some basics were missing or not sufficiently available (toiletries, toilet paper, detergent) and we had to buy some stuff.
My parents Pam and Tony stayed at Megan's place and this was their review:
Diamond Street Greenpoint was a great place to come home to every night after doing the daily tourist trek all over greater NYC.
It is situated in what we felt was a totally non tourist area which is heavily Polish so the sense was we were experiencing a true Brooklyn society.
The apartment is at the back of the building so was very quiet and sleep was uninterrupted.
Although we had fully intended to have breakfast and the odd meal at 'home’ we never got around to it even though everything in the unit was in place to do so.
With all the local cafes and eateries available we ended up eating out most of the time. In particular a stroll down to Manhattan Ave one quiet Sunday morning revealed a queue of 30 people outside the Peter Pan Bakery which made us investigate that day and return there for the very affordable fare but also to observe the locals and hear their chatting.
More up Market was the Five Leaves Cafe which is packed all the time and just near Nassau station.
Unfortunately Nassau station, which is a short walk from Diamond Street, was undergoing work in the Queens direction so we had to get to Bedford Avenue.
Other than that inconvenience we were happy with our stay and recommend Megan’s place. Megan gave us total privacy during our stay.

Megan's apartment was great for my stay in New York. It's perfect for a couple. The place has lot of natural light and is very charming. The location is good, close to mccarren park and to great cafes, restaurants and night life, it's close from G train and not so close, but yet not so far from the L train. And last, but not least, Megan was a great host, easy to reach and left us tips of places to go, making our experience even better. I recommend her place if you're going to NYC.
I booked Megan's apartment for my parents. I don't have the room to accommodate them in my apartment and Megan's place was just a few blocks away. Megan is a great host and was great about communicating before the reservation. Key pick up was super easy. The apartment was super cozy and clean. My parents really enjoyed their stay!
I'm so happy we chose to stay at Megan's apartment in Greenpoint. It's really clean, the bed is comfortable, and Megan was really easy to get in touch with before and during the stay.
The location is great and we loved her neighborhood. Lots of places to eat/drink (she left a local recommendation page, we tried 2 or 3, they were great) You can also walk/subway/cheap cab to Williamsburg and other areas of Brooklyn. Getting to Manhattan is pretty simple too.
Would definitely stay here again.
Megan was very easy to communicate with, my brother and my father stayed in her apartment for two nights and were very pleased with their accommodations. Getting and returning the keys was simple and worry-free, I highly recommend.
Megan was very accommodating last minute. She stayed in touch and was easy to get in touch with. Her apartment was comfortable with all needs including wifi and a/c if needed in window. Easy access to greenpoint and williamsburg which are awesome nieghborhoods and where I used to live so was a great spot for me to see my friends.
My fiancée and I stayed at Megan's place in Greenpoint the first week of May 2013 and had the most excellent time. Her apartment is small but very cosy. The bed is great and so is the shower. I'm quite tall and it was nice to be able to stand upright under the shower head for once. The location is quiet but close to lots of very cool and friendly bars, cafés, restaurants, and parks. We met her briefly upon arrival and Megan is such a nice person. She was also very helpful - esp. letting us keep our luggage at her places way past our checkout time. Highly recommended!
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Megan's place was lovely and a great area to stay in the city. Her apt is cute and comfortable and she left a nice list of places to stay and was easily accessible if I had any questions. Greenpoint/williamsburg is a great area, and megan is a great host :)
Megan was a wonderful guest at the Hickory Cottage. She was very communicative and left the cottage neat and clean. She is welcome to come back anytime.
