Amanda’s husband was delightful. I would very much like to be able to say the same of Amanda but I can’t.
From the moment she first marched into the house up the stairs with her muddy shoes, ignoring me without even saying hello, she was an unmitigated nightmare: rude, disrespectful, truly one of the most unpleasant people I have ever met.
I actually asked Amanda to leave after two days because she was so intolerable, but she pleaded with me for half an hour to stay. (I only let her stay because she has a baby and young child and was apparently stressed out about her imminent move to Australia.) She actually asked to extend her stay - I wonder why, and why she didn’t leave if my place was so bad!? I wish I had never taken her booking and never encountered her, and that I had not allowed her to stay.
She ignored all rules and common decency: repeatedly using the washing machine at 5am in the morning (which the neighbours complained about) broke several of my wine glasses and pieces of crockery, she brought extra guests to stay over night who were not permitted or on the original booking, persisted in wearing her shoes in the house and trod dirt into all the carpets, and broke my sofa which I had to replace.
She left the house like an absolute pigsty (and presumably lived like that) leaving work surfaces unclean and food waste strewn throughout the kitchen. My cleaners had to spend a whole day to put things right after she left, and get rid of junk which she left in the house.
From the outset she was also absolutely determined to find fault about everything where there was actually nothing wrong.
(Guests have their own hoover and ironing board. All renovations including the kithen are complete and photos accurate. It is very suitable for families and you will see good reviews from families who have enjoyed great great stays)
